Question about Hitachi 53SDX01B 53" Rear Projection Television
This could mean a loose connection on CRT Board (red of course). Also check to see if lines going to board are connected correctly. If nothing, then there could be something trying to short itself out on CRT board. Look for burnt resistors and bad capacitors. The actual problem may be the red driver transistor or a cold solder joint. You can also check the bulb which is accessed in the front just under the screen on the left side. It comes in a black box and is not removable from the box. You have to replace the whole assembly the bulb is in.
If everything is fine there then the problem is most likely a defective light engine, it is a very common problem with these TVs. Hitachi is not very forthcoming with information or help unless you’re still under warranty. If you are not good at soldering and de- soldering have a local TV shop do it for you.
Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.
