It could be your compressor. You can check this by popping it out and putting a 12 volt source on it.

Why is GE Profile Bottom Freezer Refrigerator not cooling

Check manual for proper setting.
Check compressor running condition. (set to lowest temperature and let the doors open. the compressor must run contineously. Feel if it is cooling up. If so then close the doors and observe the compressor running behavior. It should run for minutes before the compressor stops.

If compressor is running but no cooling effect it is either leakage of freon or loose compression. let it be checked by a certified technician.

If compressor is not running at normal temperature check your thermostat and OLP (over load protection) relay. Both must be closed circuit.

1996 amana top freezer refrigerator not cooling

Check power to and from thermostat and to compressor relay. If compressor powered but not running, compressor fault. If compressor running but no heat in condenser, short of gas. If compressor running and heat only in first rungs of condenser, compressor poor pumper and needs replacing.

Compressor runs but wont cool

Make sure the compressor is running it should be vibrating and get warm after a few minutes. If it is indeed running the smaller tube to the compressor should be getting warm if not it could very well be the compressor has stopped pumping. If the fans are not running they could be controlled from the control board and will come on when the sensors on the evaporator get to a certain temperature. I does sound like the compressor is the problem.

U-Line ice maker compressor won't run

Dose compressor fell too hot ? There could be several things wrong. First you will need to get out your Volt meter to make all test. With unit calling for freeze cycle the condenser fan and compressor should be running. Check at the compressor to make sure your getting power to the over load switch and then through it to compressor. if not then check to see if compressor is to hot and has the switch open> If so then unplug unit to let compressor cool down so switch will close. when switch closes plug unit back up and start up unit check to see it compressor starts if so then you will need to see what is causing compressor to over heat. could be dirty condenser, low charge, fan dropping out, Bad compressor.

Does not cool either side fan runs and compressor seems to run

2 possible issues. If compressor running, but not cooling - No freon in the system, or compressor valves are bad, not compressing freon. Ideal would be to check pressures on the system while its running. Could be some kind of restriction. most common problem i would guess low freon level. Here are 2 of my videos i have on my channel. first is leak found at evaporator coils. i used leak dye to find it, second video is replacing compressor, but had compressor completely down. installed 3-n-1 hard start kit, but compressor did not come on, so replaced compressor with filter drier. Hope this will give you an idea what to do next.

My cooler compressor start stops imidetly..why

There is a start / run / thermal overload relay on the 3 compressor input terminals that has 3 functions

1. enage the start winding

2. switch to run winding

3. Protect the winding in the event of a bad start or locked compressor rotor.

If it is actually starting but not running at full speed / normal RPM the run capacitor can also be bad.

Unless the compressor is locked up... the cost to repair the unit is worth the expense. The only thing that would be bad news is if the repair person told you the compressor rotor is locked and the compressor needs replaced.

From the symptoms you described you have a compressor run component failure and the the compressor rotor is not locked.

Compressor runs loaded continuously even in low/no demand periods

Each compressor should be checked several times per year as to length of time it takes to fill an empty tank to set pressure. This will provide chart of performance / efficiency. I believe that compressor #2 is not running to full capacity. If compressor # 2 is suffering from leaking valves or headgasket the head and air discharge temp will higher than compressor #1. Good luck!

Side by side not cold

compressor overheated or stuck. also check starter relay...maybe broke.
if ever thing is alright,

let it stand for about 4 hours unplugged to cool the compressor.

plug it after 4 hours and if the compressor would still run for 10 seconds, then you have a faulty compressor.

tnx 4 using fixya,
