Hi Vstanle,

you have diagnosed it correctly, the best solution to your issue is to have the part replaced which is available from the link below.

http://www.epinions.com/t-orrick-classic-xl

having this part repaired is also possible with the use of a duct tape, remove the tube and carefully lay the tape from the INSIDE of the white tube then on the black tube to add more stability.

hope this helps.

regards.

I presume the motor is running, take the front brush roller off and check the fan is still intact. Possibly broken fan.

The main brush head on my Dyson Digital Slim will stop turning during vacuuming. I let out on the power trigger, push back in and the brush head will work for a bit and then stop again. My digital slim is...

It's probably due to a build-up of dirt/hair around the brush head or a blockage in the suction head just behind the brush (where the hole is smaller and bends slightly before entering the extension tube. Remove the brush from the head of the machine and also the extension tube between the head and the top of the machine and then gently clear the rectangular hole in the brush compartment with something flexible (maybe a piece of wire or a pipe-cleaner) depending on how bad the blockage is. Then remove any hair/strands which may be wrapped around the brush, and any dust in the brush compartment. It may also be a opportune time to wash out the filter which is located just in front of the handle on the upper part of the machine. Leave the filter to dry completely before refitting (in an airing cupboard or near a radiator - may take some hours)

DYSON DC07 ORIGIN BRUSH ROLLERS WONT ROLL WHEN HOVVERING BURNING SMELL AND SMOKE FROM BOTTOM OF HOVER ROLLERS WILL MOVE BY HAND ANY IDEAS, THERES NO BLOCKAGES.

Hi There,
Ok so I have made a few videos about what to check when you have issues like this.
THere are 3 possible causes.
1. THe bearings in the brush roller are worn so even though you can turn it by hand the belt cannot.
2. The clutch belts are too stretched and are slipping causing them to heat up and start to melt.
3. The roller on the clutch has melted as a result of the heat from teh belt.
From experience the most likely cause is that the bearings are worn and likely the belts are stretched. I will link a video from our youtube channel watch the one I link and then do a search within the channel for DC07 and you will see the other videos.
You should be able to get away with just replacing the bearings or the belts. I will say that if you have got to the point where you are having issues with the front end I would encourage you to replace the DC07 filters too normally they have a similar lifespan.

Our brush doesn't rotate anymore on our U5402-900 vacuum cleaner. What are common causes of this?

The number one cause of brushes not rotating is a broken belt. If you remove the four screws holding the bottom plate, you'll see a short, wide rubber belt that goes around the roller.

If this is broken, it's easy to replace. They do break because of age and wear. One of the leading causes of breakage is when the roller gets something - a curtain cord, for example - wrapped around it. If you don't immediately shut off the vacuum & remove the cord, the belt will continue to try to turn the roller (which can't turn), and this generates a lot of heat in just a few seconds.

The number two cause of brushes not rotating is, as suggested above, something jammed & wound around the roller. It's always a good idea to turn the vacuum over periodically and clean the roller... including using scissors or a knife to snip & remove wound hairs & threads. A clean and healthy roller will help to keep your belt happy!

The vacuum cleaner is not "picking up or vacuuming dirt, etc." I removed and checked the tube, etc. and it's clear (no blockage). I did notice that residue, etc. is blowing out at the base where...

Things to check. The fan scroll is what the handle tube goes into.Remove the tube and inspect the scroll for a clogg. Also inspect it for a crack, you may want to remove the bottom plate to do so.Look in the roller brush area for the intake hole into the fan it could be clogged there. If the bag inflates you do not have a clogg if it dosent you have a blockage somewhere.if you havent checked remove the bag it can also clogg up right where it attaches to the tube.It sounds from your description that you have a blockage. www.sewvac.com

Will not spray

There are a handful of places that the mechanism can get blocked. The easiest test is to remove the brush attachment and pull the trigger. If it sprays fine, then the blockage is in the small length of tubing in the brush attachment. The most likely place is in the small plastic piece at the very end of the attachment. You should be able to see the small plastic piece where the tubing ends, this is a common place for a blockage. You can usually use a piece of thin wire to clear the blockage.

New Filters have been fitted on the Sebo automatic XI

OK - I'm a Sebo expert, and we will get to the bottom of this! I need you to do one thing for me: lie the machine on one side, then switch it on and look to see if the brush roller is revolving - KEEP FINGERS and all loose items WELL CLEAR. Does the brush revolve? Then, with the machine switched off and unplugged, see if you can rotate the brush roll by hand. Does it revolve easily, or is there a lot of resistance? Then post a reply here saying what you observe. I'll get back to you when I've got your reply.

I have the same problem. I believe, after some inspection, that the mechanism which allows for the circular spin of the brush has failed. Though I'm no mechanic, I believe my girlfriend's long (and beautiful) hair became entangled underneath the gray "end-cap" causing breakage of the rotating mechanism (which I believe is normally housed within the brush under the rectangular "end-cap"...the other "end-cap" piece is circular). Now the brush will spin about 6 rotations but with each spin the gray "end-cap" will extend on its screw rather than spinning freely. I believe my only option is to order another brush. We'll see if it solves the problem.
