Re: sound problems

Ensure that the sound is not in the mute which appears in the system tray.

click on ->start
click on -> run

enter dxdiag
click yes on the window that appears later another window appears
click on ->sound tab
click on ->test direct sound

you should hear the sound

click on ->music
click on->test direct music

you should hear the music

if you do not hear in the above case install the audio drivers from the motherboard cd, restart the system. This fixes the problem.

if there is a problem with the hardware of your speakers you have to take it for a repair.

Take care.[:)]

Re: sound problems

Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the AUDIO. Then Click on the drop down and select the sound card installed in your computer. If you have a camera installed and the microphone is not working, then select the Camera Microphone.
Click OK and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Private photos/video

1. Stop write anything to your harddrive,otherwise you will re-write the files and permanently loose your important data.
2. Use some data recovery software like this one. My friends recommend it to me, it works pretty well. And then scan your hard drive with the program, set a destination folder (folder where recovered files will be saved) somewhere on your computer. When the scan was finished, it will return a file list, you can choose the files you want to recover.
Hope this help!

you are not totally remove your virus inside your PC. You remove only the name of the virus but the Registry are not heal yet. It still on the system waiting to attack again. Both Virus & spyware are the same problems. To remove on it you should run a a program such as Spyware Doctor or Trojan Remover. At this time you can install again your Web Cam easily. Good luck!

Step 1: The "Tools" menu of Windows Live Messenger

1. Recover Windows Live Messenger in our software if you do not have it yet.
2. Start the installation of the software.
3. Once this is done, go to the Tools menu software.

In this menu, two links are important in order to properly configure your camera:"Setting audio and video" and "Parameters of the webcam."This is the first that we will discuss first and foremost, the second used primarily to adjust the parameters of the image in the secondary stage but we are dealing with. Launch therefore setup wizard and click on "Next".

Step 2: The setting of loudspeakers

1. Select your hardware in the menu.
2. Check the box if you use a helmet.
3. Test finally your sound output in order to adjust the volume.

It is possible that you find in the menu several choices. That means you have several elements in your computer capable of transmitting sound, a dedicated card and your motherboard, for example. In this case, make sure to select well the correct input, what you quickly verify the test by loudspeakers.

Step 3: At the turn of the microphone

1. Select your sound source.
2. Start talking to your microphone.
3. Observe the cursor, if it moves, your microphone is working.

Two remarks on the stage configuration. On the one hand, if your camera has no microphone, you must go through a device that you must annex plug into the pink on your sound card. On the other hand, if your mouse does not work, you may have selected the wrong input device sound. Take particular care in this setting and not leave this page only when the cursor s'agitera,
indicating that your voice is recognized by the software.

Step 4: Turning finally to the image

1. Specify this time the source of the video.
2. Observe the window of return: if your setup is satisfactory, your image should appear.
3. Adjust the frame rendering through the "Option" button.

I do have a new computer and recently I did install Yahoo Messenger.After all I was trying to make a PC-to-PC call without any luck,because of sound unknown problem. The webcam is a Logitech QuickCamCommunicate STX. I also got a message from my computer saying that "This computer does not support the required audio compression format". I did try to make a short video and again no sound. Mistery to me,still. Any clues? Thanks,Cos.

Quickcam camera icon is missing?

Do you mean the desktop icon itself, or the taskbar icon?

If you just want the desktop icon back, navigate to "program files / logitech/ quickam" folder. Right click on the "quickcam" (it will have a pic of the eyeball camera). Click "create shortcut". Drag that shortcut icon to the desktop.

To make the the taskbar icon, make another shorcut, and drag it to the taskbar.

Good luck!
