Camera says "write protect" and I can't figure out what happened.

I have a Olympus C-160 digital camera, I took some pictures Friday and camera was working fine, when I went to take some pictures Saturday, by the 4th picture, it was going kind of slow so I changed the batteries, opened lens cover to take another picture and the screen went blue and said "write protect". Now I can't take pictures anymore. Is it the card or the camera? What do I do for this problem? Please help!

This can happen when you battery does not have enough power. It protects the camera against damage and the pictures on the memory card. If the camera has not enough power while accessing the memory, it could damage all pictures you already shot.
Even when you just charged the battery, it can be it does not have enough power to work. Just try charging it again and if possible try another battery.

Write protected-Olympus EVOLT E-510 Digital Camera.

The write protect is on the memory card, take the card out and unlock it, it will be at the side of the card like this

Were you trying to put pictures directly from your camera to your phone? Please clarify. If so this will not work without conversion software if it even exists.

Picture lock

Protected pictures cannot be erased using [ERASE],
[SEL. IMAGE] or [ALL ERASE], but they are all erased by
formatting.
• Go to Playback mode in the camera. Select the picture to be unlocked with the left or right arrow buttons, and to remove the protection select OFF with the up or down arrow button.

You have to get it fixed from the shop you bought it at. Because, one of the wires has becomed chemically messed up. So the best solution is that. But, remmeber when you go to the store you bought it they might ask you to pay even if you have a warranty still, tell them to fix it for free. Hope I helped.

Write protect card

thos pictures are lost... u ken fix the problem by format...menu- setup- format...they are problems with the pictures because the camera was shaken allot...dont worry this will do it... or u ken get a card reader to get thos photos back, but the format is required
