SOURCE: Powers off by itself

You need a firmware upgrade that has to be done by a tech onsite. I've done many of them. 12 Blue blinks is a TVGuide download trouble and doesn't hurt the set but a firmware update should solve it. If it occurs again after that you need the Main Assy replaced but make sure the firmware is updated on that also.
Problem will go away
Hope this helps

Pioneer 5020 will not power up and blue light flashes 8 times

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. I have a pioneer gm-d8400m the amp isnt working

flashing light could mean a few different things. 1- constant power may not be there. check with a test light or multimeter. should read around 12 volts. it would be a good idea to check all the power and ground leads. make sure u have a good ground. 2- bad sub. im assuming sub since its a monoblock amp. you can meter the subs. make sure the total ohm load is no less than 2 ohms. any lower the amp will go into protect mode. 3- bad amp. power supply may be bad. the newer pioneer amps are full of protection circuits. ive been a professional installer for a shop about 8 years and we sell pioneer. hope it helps.

Please count the number of flashes of the Blue LED. It will flash Ex. 12 times and pause for 2 seconds and then flash 12 times again. The number of times it flashes will tell me more as to what the solution is. I am assuming the set works otherwise ?? What is the model number of the set ?
