It is indeed made by Sharp.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead several seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use (in order given) for test help, but read the safety warnings first:

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/cap_test.html

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/xformer.html

OR, we have the service / repair manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

The parts list is here.

You can order Dacor parts
here.

If you prefer to order the original Sharp parts (which are usually considerably less) look for the part number on a tag on the transformer or capacitor (whichever is bad).

The part number for the capacitor will be similar to RC-QZBOl8MREO and the transformer number will be similar to RTRN-BO59MREO. Again, these numbers are examples to show Sharp's number format.

You can order Sharp parts from Encompass here http://tinyurl.com/7qy85y or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

My Dacor PCOR30 only works 58-59 seconds at a time. I've read this could be a control board issue (part No. 66660). Is this correct? Is there any other possible cause?

Not likely.

This is a problem in one of the damper-related components, either the switch or motor or the damper door may be binding.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

Dacor-branded PCOR30-series microwaves are just cosmetically altered versions of the Sharp R1870-series ovens.

These Sharp-made models stop after 59 seconds when there's damper toruble.

See the attached sample drawing below for a typical damper assembly.

We have the applicable service manuals for the Sharp models and have uploaded it to our site here and here to help you in disassembling and troubleshooting your Dacor version.

You can find the Dacor PCOR parts list here and you can order Dacor parts by part number here.

If a switch is all you need, we offer a universal type for only $7.50 postpaid which you can order here.

Dacor DMT2420. Light and Display work fine, and you can type in time for cooking, but when you hit start, it does not make the buzz of it's normal sound, and the turntable doesn't spin.

On the DMT2420, that's a bad bottom door switch, or possibly that switch's mount.
The service manual is here and the parts list is here.
You can order Dacor parts by part number from the Pros here.

Try unplugging it, wait 60 seconds, and plug back in. Or press the HELP button if there is one, press the number "1", and press STOP. That works on my Sharp microwave.

How do I change the lightbulb on a dacor model DMO024 microwave oven

On this model, you have to remove the outer cover of the oven, then you'll find the lamp in the socket mounted on the air duct above the magnetron on the right side of the oven.

The DMO24S is essentially a rebranded Sharp model R-530E, so its service manual (here) will tell you how to disassemble it, but the proper part numbers are found in the DMO24 parts list here.

You can find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and part ordering help here.

At that last link, when looking for Dacor parts, you have to search by part number only.

I recommend that you bookmark that link to your favorites.

The microwave stops after 50-60 seconds regardless of the amount of time left on the panel

The PCOR30 microwaves are essentially a rebranded Sharp R-1870-series ovens.

This is a problem in one of the damper-related components, either the switch or motor or the damper door may be binding.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

Sharp models stop after 59 seconds.

See the attached sample drawing for a typical damper assembly.

The service manuals that cover these models are here:

http://www.microwavedisplay.com/r1874_sm.pdf
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/r1870_r1871_sm.pdf
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/r1850_r1851_sm.pdf

The above manuals will not have Sharp part numbers, not the Dacor part numbers, but they should work, and you can order them from
the Sears Parts Directimage-4235112-10659157 site.

But if you're leery or unsure, you can look up the Dacor part numbers in the part list here, then order by part number from the Pros here.
