Those Chief Stands don't look right because the base is so small, but they are also as much as a new tv. I can get a wall mount for $55 but prefer the table base like the set came with originally. Those Chief Stands don't look right because the base is so small, but they are also as much as a new tv. Good luck with that. As soon as these sets go out of production, so do most of the parts associated with them. You would be better served to get a TV table stand that uses a wall-mount-style backer. That way you get the tabletop mount and the extra security of knowing it won't get knocked over easily. Something like this....
If the Aquos 46 is anything like the Aquos 42, the monitor is attached to the base with machine screws (bolts). They are located in the lower back portion of the monitor, probably need an Allen wrench to loosen and remove. Once that is done, the base can be removed from the monitor. Best way is to lay the monitor face down on a tabletop padded with foam, a quilt or blanket, etc to protect the screen as you work. Remove the stand from the monitor, not the monitor from the stand; it is easier and safer that way.
I have the same TV, and I bought a mount with 4 connector holes. I was able to connect 3 of the 4 and it has been fine as the TV does not weigh too much. The TV was not designed with the current mode of either wall or stand mount. It was just intended for stand. I have had it on the wall for over 2 years.
The MLT169A is a version number issued by MegaMeet in asia who built the supply. The correct part number for the SMPS for that unit is: E7802-005008 and unfortunately they are no longer available... However, there is some good news, those supplies can usually be rebuilt but you need to have the equipment, knowledge to make the repair...

I just purchased this unit and briefly looked at removing the stand though I haven't taken it off yet. Anyways, I think you need to remove the black metal mounting frame from the TV before trying to unscrew the stand (4 screws) from the metal frame. After the frame is off the TV, I think you can then get at a couple of hidden screws to remove the stand from frame. I don't know if the frame goes back on the TV or not.
