Electrical outlets in my 98 skyline fifthwheel stopped working.but there's power going out of the breakers

This is an indication of a failed connection. Somewhere. Since you probably do not know how the affected circuit was run, it's going to take some time - but it's not difficult work. But before we roll up our sleeves - first locate and RESET any Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) type outlet. If any fail to reset - replace it with another GFI outlet with the same electrical rating. Pay attention to which cables and wires that are connected LINE and LOAD terminals wires when removing and replacing! Don't forget to check outlets on the outside of the 5th wheel.

Circuits fail almost always at connections. Wires and cables in walls don't just "break" in the middle. We need to check connections in the bad circuit. First, plug lights in all the outlets. Turn the circuit breaker for the bad circuit from ON to OFF. Note which lights shut off. With the break OFF, check the outlets that WORKED.

We're looking for the point that power entered the outlet box, but due to a failed connection is unable to leave it and feed the first failed outlet. Check and tighten all screw terminals and wirenuts. Check both hot and neutral wires. Make sure no wires are loose, pull out or are burned (cut and strip back these wires and reconnect / wirenut). Try to power the circuit to see if you found the problem after each check - if not - repeat at the next outlet that worked until you find the problem. If you are still unable to get it working after checking the working outlets, repeat the process on each of the non-working outlets. If still unable to get it working, check ceiling fixtures as it is not uncommon to wire to the light fixture first and then feed down to outlets.

No power to Whirlpool awo/d5727. I have checked the fuse and the socket but still have no power.

You say you checked "socket" and the "fuse," did you mean the AC wall outlet (115V) and a fuse or breaker in the main power panel?
Nearly all circuits involving water are protected by a Ground Fault Interrupter that can be servicing several wall outlets (perhaps one not near the washing machine) or can be located as part of a circuit breaker in your main power panel.
The GFI outlets will have one or two push buttons located between the outlets and a combination GFI/overcurrent breaker will also have at least one button where others will have none.
If you find one that is tripped, try resetting it. If it will not reset, unplug the washing machine and try again.
If it now stays on, your machine may have an electrical path causing it to trip and using an unprotected outlet may be unsafe and an indication that the appliance itself may have electrical leakage which could be otherwise dangerous.
The circuit breakers in the main power panel can also fail (they didn't 20 years ago) and we have replaced 3 in a home only 5 years old already so they are not made well anymore.

No indicator lights Whirlpool wdt710paym dishwasher

If it doesn't run and you have no indicator lights, check the circuit breaker for that outlet. If it is ok, test the output voltage at the plug-in for the machine (115Vac). If it is "live" then check inside the control panel (turn off the breaker first) for a fuse that appears blown. If no fuse problem, CAREFULLY (with breaker back on) see if the main switch is getting power. If it is getting power, the control board is shot...replace it!

Replaced circuit breaker with a brand new one. There is still no power to anything that runs off that circuit.

Did you check the output of the breaker?

If you replaced the breaker (with one of the types specified on the panel cover) and there is still no output between it and the neutral bar, then there's some sort of problem with the bus bar in the panel. You should shut off power at the service disconnect and carefully inspect the portion of the bus bar to which the breaker connects. You're looking for darkened / pitted copper or aluminum bus. These are indications of poor continuity that result in heat. You may have luck abandoning that breaker location and selecting another, unused location for the breaker instead.

Did you check the neutral wire associated with this circuit?

An open neutral will mimic a "no power" problem like a blown fuse or open breaker - even when the fuse or breaker isn't the problem. The circuit consists of a hot and neutral. One without the other gives a "no power" indication. Keep in mind that the hot (or neutral for that matter) may test "good" in the panel, but in fact may have opened and *any* connection (splice, wire nut, device, etc.) between the panel and where no power is first observed. Check ALL locations (switches, fixtures, outlets, junction boxes, etc.) in the circuit for open broken connections. It can be time consuming - but this is the only way to find the break point. Additionally, there may be a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) receptacle that is supplying power to the part of the circuit that you noticed has failed. Press the RESET button on all of these devices to make sure none have tripped - and those that have - are reset.

Good luck!

I have a watermaster timer and the fuse keeps blowing. It's kept indoor so it's not getting wet. What would you recommend checking?

Watermaster timer has 24V AC transformer that plugs into outlet.
I don't know if the transformer is causing problem, or is circuit has a problem.

1) Use cheap circuit analyzer from home center to check outlet for problems.
2) If possible, replace Watermaster transformer with 24V AC transformer available from home center doorbell section.
3) Move transformer to another outlet and see if problem persists.
4) Actions above can give some indication if transformer or circuit are causing problem. If circuit is suspect, move wire to another circuit breaker, and/or replace circuit breaker.

Blowing main breaker

I have a hard time believing that the home's main breaker is tripping instead of the branch circuit breaker that feeds the microwave. I suspect it is really just a difference in terms. You should disconnect it and try using in another outlet - preferably one on a different circuit if possible. If the breaker continues to trip; this appliance should be disconnected and either be discarded, repaired or replaced before using again.

If the microwave works as expected (on a different circuit), it may indicate the original circuit is overloaded. Microwave overs are supposed to be installed on a dedicated circuit. This means only one outlet is on the circuit - no other loads (lights, appliances, etc.) are permitted on this circuit. A microwave typically requires 10 Amps or more when on "high" and will require a significant portion of the power supplied by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker. There is little unused to power much of anything else. If other appliances go out when the microwave trips the circuit breaker, you should contact an electrician to have a dedicated outlet installed for the microwave.

I hope this helps!

Maytag Neptune will not start.

Hi,

""The circuit breaker is okay."" that is a good 1st check.

""I may have burnt out the wall outlet. "" Plug a 120VAC device to the washer outlet and see if it works. Why do you think you burnt out/damaged the outlet?

""Turned it off for a while and will try again later."" When you power up the washer do you have any Console indications that the machine is on. I will assume your machine is a FAV6800A TL. Do you have any LED display indicators turned on?

That is all I can help with for now. I'm a technical owner of the FAV6800A machine and will try t help if uour machine is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A.

Most important what is the model number of your machine. This forum fails big time to ask members for Model# and Serial # of their machine.

Here is the Service Manual for the FAV6800A/FAV9800A

hi there,
no indication that machine is not working,is there any power supply, check the power source, circuit breaker switch on.

Step 1: Check to make sure it's receiving power. If the unit plugs into a wall outlet, check the cord, the plug, and the outlet to make sure they're functioning properly. Also check the switch that controls the outlet to make sure it's turned on. Most built-in dishwashers are wired directly into a circuit. Check the main entrance panel for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, and restore the circuit. If your home is an older one, the dishwasher may be wired to a separate entrance panel; look for a blown fuse or breaker at this panel, and restore the circuit.

Step 2: If the circuit is receiving power, and the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, the switch may be faulty. Test the switch with a voltage tester. Take off the switch cover plate and place one probe of the tester on one terminal and the other probe on the other terminal. If the tester bulb lights, the switch is functioning. If it doesn't light, the switch is faulty. Replace the switch with a new one of the same type.
this should be done by appliance technician, but if you have knowledge on this check it out.regads have a nice day, dont forget to rate me thank's

I would check the cord or the plug before anything else. Plug another appliance into the outlet if it works try bending the male plugs on the cord slightly and try again. If this doesnt work call the man.
