Get a new printer. Sounds like the power board went bad. Could be bad capacitors or a bad fuse but it will probably cost more to repair then to just replace the printer.

1Open the upper-front cover and remove the toner cartridge.2
Look into the printer. Remove any jammed sheets of paper that you find there.

  • If the print job only consisted of this one page, reinstall the toner cartridge and close the front cover. Press the pattlnk_10162008_2247-select_button.jpg button to clear the error, and then try printing again.

  • If the print job consisted of more than one page, confirm the entire paper path is clear before printing again. Do the following:

    1. Remove the top paper tray ('Tray 1').
    2. Remove any jammed or partially-fed sheets of paper you find here, then reinstall the tray.
    3. Go around to the back of the machine and open the upper-rear cover. Remove any jammed sheets of paper you find, then close the cover.
    4. Once you have confirmed that the entire paper path is clear, reinstall the toner cartridge and close the front cover.
    5. Press the pattlnk_10162008_2247-select_button.jpg button to clear the error, and then try printing again.

  • If you cannot locate any jammed paper under the toner cartridge, then check the rest of the printer for any jammed paper. Do the following:

    • Remove the top paper tray ('Tray 1') and look for any jammed or partially-fed sheets of paper.
    • If you do not find any jammed pages there, reinstall the tray and go around to the back of the machine. Open the upper-rear cover and look there.
    • If the entire paper path appears to be clear, close the rear cover and power off the printer. Reinstall the toner cartridge and close the front cover. Power the printer back on. If a 200 error continues on power up, a sensor in the printer may be malfunctioning. This will require a service call to correct the issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional information (see Contacting Lexmark Technical Supportbelow for details).

Observe when 86:10 error appearing? after intializing the carriage or immediately after powering on?
# If immediately error appearing do the below discussed activity
# after intializing if error appearing check trailing cable, service station wipers & cappings, cutter position, cutter movement & lubrication on rail.
Detatch power cable & data cable, remove right door, pull out carriage assembly from service station area (if its locked by service station manually unlock it). Remove cable connections, screws & take out service station from the printer.Place the service station out side(ensure that cables has to fix properly) connect the cables, switch on the machine, check for the error..

I had a paperjam. I successfully removed the jammed paper, but now the screen still says that I have a paperjam and won't allow me to use my printer

If you haven't already try removing the power cord from the back and wait 10-15 seconds and that will allow it to reset. Let me know what happens!

To fix this error E3 you must open inside of the printer to remove the things." you must open your printer to remove the things, maybe waste letter or other small part things. We just got a Hp model c4480 photosmart printer this past February and have used it just a handful of times. It now displays a paperjam error message with no apparent problem. We have tried to restarting a...

Just remove both the cables power and data from the printer leave it for 5 minutes then re-connect. If it works fine then its ok or else you can conclude that your paper sensor has gone u/s and need to re-install. Before sending for the repair just give power to the printer and take a self diagnostic test to the printer without connecting the data cable to the printer.

PaperJam

I found that the little plastic hinge guide that supports/aligns the scanning area with the printer (stage 4 on the internal paper jam problem) was misaligned. I just removed it and the printer now works OK

I keep getting a paperjam error but no paper is jammed

Hi,

I had the same problem.

After stripping the printer down I found there is a lever in the path of the paper that operates a photo electric sensor. This can get stuck in the wrong position. To reset it get a sheet of A4 paper or (better) card fold back a 1 cm strip on the top edge of the paper and press it down flat. Open the rear cover and insert the sheet folded edge first and folded flap upper most over the top of the upper set of rubber rollers. Push it into the machine as far as it will go and then withdraw it. You should feel a little resistance or here a click as the lever is reset. You printer should now work.

Several hours of frustartion and foul language have brought you this fix. I hope it works for you.

Regards,

Jon

Sometimes just a teensy bit of paper stuck inside will make it say paperjam. I would check very well.
