Question about Eureka 431A Optima Bagless Upright Vacuum

Eureka Optima vacuum has suction at the hose but not at the floor. I took out the filter and it still isn't suctioning so I don't think it is the filter.

It sounds like you have a plug. check where the hose goes into the back of vac. it should have a clip remove this and see if there is a plug there

The same thing happened to mine- it turns out the belt was broken! So just replce the belt- it's about $4-$5. Your manual should explain how to do this.

SOURCE: My Eureka Optima vacuum doesn't have any suction

It will as long as long as your accessory hose is properly inserted into the base. Otherwise the vacuum stays on the hose only.

I have a Eureka upright bag less model 5857 az. The hose has suction but not for the carpet. Is there a switch that needs to be turned to floor suction? I do not have a manuel.

I'm just guessing here, but have you laid the vacuum down with the underside of its head showing? There is a channel that runs from the brush section to the hose when it's connected correctly to the head. Look for item(s) that may be jammed into that channel. Ensure that the hose is properly attached to the head. If you feel no suction on that underside channel, you have something jammed in it.

Eureka Optima Lightweight suction weak on bare floor, hose only works when dial is turn to floor?

I think it is normal. My favorite setting is the dial is turned to bare floor. If you set your vacuum to hose, then you need to adjust the height (do not set the dial to the bare floor).

I have a Eureka Contour model 2900 type A upright vacuum, the roller works fine nothing clogged, took it apart motor blade is free of debris, no suction from tube and blasts OUT air from the front HEPA...

Even with your explanation,it seems the hose is clogged.Try taking the hose off, then blow through it or pour water through it.If this doesn't do it,make sure the suction canals are going to the proper areas.

Very little suction? Someone give me an answer please.

You must have something obstructing the airflow. There is sometimes a small trap door under the vacuum where the brush is located. Open that door and see if there is something jammed in it. If you don't have the door, then there is an obstruction somewhere in the vacuum. You should also look in the hose.

No suction from base or hose attachment

Hi,
I had the same problem with my Eureka vacuum cleaner. I don't have the problem with the beater bar, but I had the problem with the attachment hose not getting any suction. I found out that I was putting attachment on the wrong end of the hose. The end that you use in the front. Don't how I got that confused because it always worked before. Hope this helps with the hose part of the problem.

My eureka 2961avz bagless vacuum has no suction

Usually clogs are in the dirt inlet by the brush roll, or in the hose. Take the hose off from the bottom and see if there is suction, if not, then the hose is clogged. If suction there, then it is lower. Also is the brush roll turning, if not, that could be your problem.

The filter probably needs a darn good clean. If it is clean, wipe the inside of the canister with a clean cloth to get rid of static.
