You have done good work here young man. There is a relay or switch that is keeping the signal for being processed. I had the same similar problem with mine. At least your compressor is ok. Are you sure timer is wired back right.

That 8141-00B is a Paragon timer model number. If you get the identical one you can just mark the numbers down and be sure to wire in the new one the same way.

see if you can locate the defrost timer. then check it to see if it works. If it is a mechanical one, it will have a timer face on it that moves. make a mark on it and then check it in about 15 minutes to see if it has moved. If not, there is your problem.

The reason your "freezing up in the freezer" is your unit is not automatically defrosting. That part you describe is your defrost control, or at least A defrost control. You said while cleaning the back, safe to assume you meant the outside back of the cabinet? Look for a square plug, either black or white, with the same 3-1plug as the defrost control. But, I doubt that is your current defrost control, maybe the original, but the unit cannot run without the defrost control plugged in. Now, your current defrost control maybe defunct, or your defrost heater element, or bi metal thermostat, the latter two are located in the freezer, one at the top, the other at the bottom of the evaporator coil. Test the continuity through both of these parts, the bi metal t stat at top of evaporator needs to be tested while it is cold. Disconnect one end of the heater element to test its continuity. If both of these test ok, replace your defrost control.

Hi, sounds like your defrost clock is stuck in the defrost mode. On most true boxes they have a paragon defrost clock with adjustable pins you can set the amount of cycles and duration of the defrost cycle. Find the clock and give it a turn in the direction of the arrow or cw. It will come out of defrost and start to freeze again. If it continues, you may need a new clock. Let me know what you find. If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air
check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

Probably uses a Paragon 8145 timer. Wiring as follows
L1 to 1/2 on timer, L2 to 2 on timer, Defrost Heater to 3 on timer,
Compressor to 4 on timer, Klixon to X on timer

Check the defrost timer for operation if your unit has one. Some Delfield models have solid state controls. If your system has a timer for the defrost you can open the timer cover and turn the dial in the direction indicated by the arrow until a time peg comes up to the time of day marker. You will hear a loud click and the compressor will shut off. Defrost should take place. The inner dial of the timer will have some indication as to how long in minutes the defrost should take. If the pointer does not move while in the defrost position the timer motor is bad. Turn the dial again so the copper pointer goes past the time of day marker and the compressor should restart. Replace the timer.

Having to manually defrost an automatic defrost system tells me there is a problem with your defrost timer. Most Beverage-air freezers have a Paragon timer. There are two dials on these timers. An inner and outer dial. On the inner dial is an arrow to indicate the direction of rotation as counter clock wise. On the inner dial is a copper pointer indicating duration of the defrost cycle.

Observe the copper pointer, no movement indicates that the timer is bad.

Your defrost is on a timer and every so often it clicks and sends electricity to defrost heater and activates. It shuts everything else down. Manually advance the timer with small screwdriver to see if it activates. If not your timer is bad. Another way to tell is to put a mark on your timer and then come back later and see if it has moved.
