Question about Brother IntelliFAX 4100 Laser Fax

Fax says its printing, nothing coming out

Our intellifax 4100 says it's printing, but it is not doing anything. I changed the cartridge, but still no printing. I have a copy of a confirmation page that someone faxed us, but we never received due to this problem. How can I fix?

Iunplugged the machine for a minute then plugged it back in. Unfortunately, whatever faxes were waiting to be printed were gone and so was the activity log. But it works now.

MY BROTHER INTELLIFAX 4100 PRINTS LINES ON MY PRINTED PAGES.

Try moving the blue slider on the cartridge back and forth 10 times to clean the charge wire. If this doesn't work, you most likely have a bad drum.

4100 when I copy I get a black line down the middle Ok after cleaning inside top cover, but, comes back after a few copies. Printing and sending fax ok.

Try printing out a report. If the line is still there you need to use the wire cleaner on your print cartridge or if that doesn't work, replace the drum unit.

The machine told you poor line quality. Try a different phone line to verify. Try it at a friends house to verify it. If you are using Vonage, that is the problem. I have Vonage and every fax I test with has some issues with poor line.

Fuser & Scanner are not the problem

Either the laser unit is dirty or blocked. Or the drum cartridge.

Gears grinding with Brother Intellifax 4100

Does it only make the noise when printing. Do you hear the noise when sending out faxes? I have heard grinding noises onlt when using poor quality toner refills, or the fuser gear and or drive gear asm is stripped. First try a known good OEM toner.
