Right click on the desktop and see if there is an option called graphic options, if there is, go in there and change the screen around in the directions that it allows you to.

If you don't have that option then hold down the CTRL and ALT keys while pressing any of the arrow keys to change the direction of the screen.

One of these two ways should put the screen back to normal as far as the direction is concerned.

If you have an icon problem that is something different altogether.

Can't see my onscreen display after turning on F7 IBM T43 ThinkPad

set it to clone. it should give you identical displays. then try setting it to extended display. But make sure that your laptop display is primary display. That is why your external screen is displaying because it set on primary.

T43 Screen portrait

Click Start/Control Panel/Display/Settings/Advanced and look for the Rotation Tab. Your screen has been rotated and it is controlled by the video card adapter.

You can also get there by Right Clicking on an open area of your desktop and select Properties and the display will open. Then select Settings/Advanced and look for the Rotation Tab.

My ibm thinkpad t43 displayed a message "hard error D0014" on a small blue screen. when i shut it down by pressing the power button for a few seconds, it restarted. but the programs won't work.

This could be a problem, not sure if its a software related or if the hard drive is bad. If you can find a windows xp cd. Try and wipe out the hard drive and install windows xp on it. If it goes thru then you'll just need the drivers. If it errors out on you then you know its a problem with the hard drive and you'll need to replace it. If you get windows xp installed on it, let me know and I'll help you with the drivers.
