Furnace not staying on

Could be thermostat or safety switch(es) in the furnace. Are you sure that the pilot is staying lit? Are you sure the main burner is lighting? Are you sure the forced draft blower is running, and the blower-detection "flapper" switch is working OK? Any of these safety devices will cause the gas supply valve to close if they are not "satisfied" in a few seconds after the thermostat calls for heat. They keep your RV safe!

Does it need propane to run the furnace or can it operate on electric alone. i have no owners manuel

Got here late...I am assuming this is for an RV. There are probably electric furnaces on some of the newer ones, however, an electric furnace would draw more power than most parks could handle, so the is answer is it probably needs to have propane. On your panel, or near your furnace, you will see a switch to tell the furnace to use propane or electric...if your furnace is capable of running on electricity.

We leave our RV on a river lot on occasion and return home. I forgot to shut off the furnace, although I turned off the gas. Will the unit run without the gas being on?

if the thremostat calls it will kick on the fan it will run. And keep running until it is shut off. Think about it if the temp gets low it will kick on to heat the space and it will run until it gets the desired temp/

House cold. furnace runs for about a minute then shuts down and flashes code

What error code? Anyhow, check the following.
Toget proper heat, keep your temp setting at 30+ degree and also mode in "heat"position. If still no heat, check your heating sensor for closed circuit by anOHMs metre. It it's with RV, check power to RV.If it's with heatingelement check power to element. If power is there but still no heat meanselement defective. Replace new heating element. Thanks.

The fan limiting switch is acting up. It should stay running until lower temp is reached. It will cycle until the temp stays below or at the low setting. Limit switches are adjustable.

Dometic/Duotherm propane furnace won't fire up

If this unit has a spark ignition you may just need to clean the flame sensor. It is a metal rod protruding in the path of the flame.

Coleman evcon dgat090bdd. New ignitor won't heat up.

Looks like 4 flashes might be high limit fault on this furnace. (I don't have a manual for this furnace, just searched online for the code meaning) Is the unit running flame at all? Is the unit running flame for a while then shutting flame off before desired temp is reached? Does the main air fan turn on to circulate air through your diffusers? Does it feel like the unit has much air flow out of the diffusers if the fan is running? Is your air filter clean? If it is infact your high limit switch, it is usually caused by not having enough airflow through the furnace and overheating occurs.

Hope this helped, let me know if I can assist you further :)
