Let the recorder finish writing your recording from the memory to the disc. Depending on length it is still working and needs time to finish. Don't try to mess with it when it is writing to the disc.

Toc not writing

I was going to note that when you first turn the MD recorder on is when it will write the TOC for the disc - so even if you turn it on and press eject, it is smart enough to write a TOC first, then eject the disc. Good find on the battery loss.

Tip

DVD player in my home theater system won't eject the disk inside.

When a disk is stuck inside the player , try following the procedure below:

Unplug power cord.
Plug back power.
Turn on the unit and press repeatedly the eject button at the same time. If you successeed in ejecting the disk before the player starts reading TOC(disk initial track), then the disk will eject.
If that does not work, then there is an internal fault, in that case the unit must be disassembled to remove the disk.

Hello,my name is Norman,i have a Sony MZ-N1,it plays fine but i have problems recording, the recording red light goes off after a few minutes and stops recording. The display then show TOC Edit flashing and...

I'm thinking you are recording longer than the battery can support the deck for power. Sony always said if you are going to record a long time you need to plug it in. Possibly your battery is old? Try it using the power brick plugged in does it still do this?
The TOC is the recorder trying to write to the disc. The recorder saves to memory and then writes to disc before ejecting the disc. It also could be a bad disc or dirt on the heads or a number of other things.

I have just put a blank disc into my sony mds s40 to record but now nothing works on the player....i just keep getting a small red flashing toc, i've tried unplugging from mains then re connecting but...

You may have the disc shutter closed preventing recording. You should never interrupt the recorder when it is trying to write to disc, you probably corrupted the table of contents (TOC) on the disc and need to reformat it to use it again.
If your deck is older you may have worn out the recording heads preventing it from writing to the disc in the worst case.

I turn the xbox on and the light turns on but it just stays there. but when i open then close the tray the ring of death comes on

different lights flashing represent the problem. They're numbered 1-4 in a clockwise direction(all 4 indicate no audio/video signal, 1,3,4 is a general hardware failure, 1,3 are an overheating problem, and 4 is a hardware problem) Your xbox has a bulit in troubleshooting function to determine fault to access it turn console on wait until rings are flashing press and hold the sync button (the small one just to left off power) then press the eject button it will show the 1st of 4 light sequences press eject button 3 more time for complete code sequence. To understand what the lights represent (all 4 means 0, 1 light is 1, 2 is 2, and 3 is 3 pretty simple huh) if you determine the code and reply back to me I'll tell you what it means and what you would need to do in order to fix it.

Cannot get a connection from wireless internet to game-

E71: possibly a dashboard update error, Check below in the "Console Reset Codes" for instructions. If that does not work there is no other solution and the console must be sent back to MS for repair.
:
The specific type of hardware failure can be determined by a "hidden" error code
Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.
Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.
You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.

One flashing red light on xbox360 ( not red ring)

Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:
All four lights flashing - 0
One light flashing - 1
Two Lights flashing - 2
Three lights flashing - 3

Once you get this code, go to: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=484726
To get the reason for the code.

Jb 940 md player. Recording a full disc, always results in playback stopping around 38 mins. previously recorded discs will play back ok, so suspect record process not completing. When played in spare...

When you get done recording, do you wait until the "TOC" light stops flashing? If you cut off power before the Table Of Contents is written, then it can't find all your music. Even if you eject, it should still flash a little red TOC or UPDATE before it spits the disc out. Check for that. okay?

Stuck minidisc

Turn the power off and back on at the mains. With the machine now in standby, press and hold the "Play Mode" and "Minidisc Play/Pause" buttons together. The machine will enter test mode and the disc should eject. Switch the power on and off again at the mains and the machine should be back to normal.
