Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, check the site linked here. If remote control is found OK, the component suspected is the infrared sensor inside the TV. This component will look somewhat like this; can be located just behind the infrared sensor window at the front panel of the TV.
Pull up previous posts, either by type in the Brand name to your set in its search box, or view it in Mosaic / Timeslide / Flipcard option. Select view option by the drop-down view box, at the top left or the display window.
