How much MB memory SD Card will support my maxim DIGITAL VIDEO MX30-7000 Please?

I think you only can use the SD cards and they will be around till sometimes 2 GB. But don't buy a 2 BG SDHC card, because it won't work. ONLY SD cards will work.
I don't want to spoil your fun, but please read the article on eBay about your camera:

CHECK CARD'S WRITE PROTECTION SWITCH

SD/SDHC cards have a small slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My JVC-GRHD1

This camcorder will use SD cards. However it will not use SDHC cards such as your 16GB Lexar card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

When trying to record video on sd card i get a "card locked" . How do i unlock card to record?

turn off the camcorder, remove the SD card. Look along the edge, perhaps the end, and you should see a little slide switch. Move it to the unlock position (away from lock arrow, or towards the unlock icon). Reinsert the card, turn camcorder back on, you should be able to use it now.

Memory format problem

First of all, check the lock button on the side of your sd card to make sure it's not in the lock position. If it's unlocked and you still cannot format the card, you can always format it on your computer via usb.

I have a JVC Everio GZ-MG21EK Camcorder can anyone tell me the maximum sd card that you can use with this camcorder

There is no limit beyond the limits of the SD cards themselves. The JVC Everio GZ-MG21EK camera DOES NOT support SDHC cards, so you are restricted to the smaller capacities of the non-SDHC SD cards. I am successfully using a 2GB SD card in this model.
