Question about DISH Network DTVPal DVR by

I have 2 DtvPal dvr's that have the same exact problem. They both show "Loading, please wait" on the tv screen but never finish loading. They cannot be used bcause of this problem. Is there a problem with the main board and if so, where can I get a replacement board? No one at dish network has ever heard of this over-the-air dvr yet they made it.

Have you tried hooking up it up to the internet and let it check itself for updates?

I am having same issue, replaced hard drive with no success. thought maybe re flashing firmware will help but can not find the file to upgrade via USB.

There are a few things you can do when this happens, unplug it for 10 seconds and allow it to power back up.

    No it gets stuck at loader menu ,no remote control. Reflashing firmware might the next Step just trying to find a copy of the file.

The feed from the recorder to my monitor is slow.

It sounds like this is a network issue. You don't give much information but loading should not be on a DVR screen unless like I mention, you tried looking through the network.

I change stations and I get sound,no picture,then no sound and the words audio service shows on th screen


Let's try a few steps on this! Make sure your video cables are tight in both the receiver and TV. If they are, try replacing the cable or using a cable you know works and see if the problem is fixed.

If it still continues, unplug the receiver for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Do any other devices have this same issue? Is it only on a few channels, or all?

Those circles are there as a sign that the unit has not finished loading the indicator - it's a wait signal. This happens because the processor no longer recognizes the indicator for the shows you recorded so yes, this is a big defect.
The unit is repairable - you will have to replace the hard drive and reprogram the unit - but this is a long and costly procedure. It will be cheaper just to buy a new one.

unplug the unit and wait 5 minutes and plug it back in. See if that helps
