Trigger/switch on EM300s Electramac chainsaw broken and needs replacement

This saw has been solid as a rock for years but "father-time" has taken its toll on the plastic housing of the trigger/switch. I disintegrated and needs to be replaced. Websites say the part (#40925-66) has been discontinued/not available. Does anyone know of a replacement trigger/switch that will work in this saw?

SOURCE: installing throttle cable on Husqvarna 445 chainsaw

Try blocking the throttle arm on the carburetor in the wide-open position with a small stick, then deal with the trigger mechanism. In order to remove the cable from the carburetor, you need to remove the carburetor itself, then unhook the cable end at the throttle arm. Keep track of which fuel hose goes where if you do this. Hope this helps!

Most Husky saws have a small pin to drive out to remove trigger. Often safety lever on top needs to be removed also. Sometimes tank/handle assembly needs to be removed to replace trigger.

Why does my electramac leaks oil

The chain oil feed is a gravity feed and will continue to feed when you put the saw down. Empty the chain oil resoivour when the machine is being stored. or store it in a driptray.

How do you replace the trigger switch? I have a new one and have taken the saw apart but am having problems with how to attach the new switch wires.

I have not disassembled my Remington Pole saw but mine has a two-wire circuit (no ground) so it should not make any difference which wire is connected to which post. Preferably, though, you should match wire colors. There should be some kind of connector block linking the trigger switch to the incoming power wire and the wire that runs to the saw motor. Attaching the new wires should simply be a process of reversing the procedure you used to remove the original trigger switch. If you cut the wires to remove the old switch, hopefully, you left enough wire end to strip them and solder the end of the new switch to the old wire.

Chain comes off mcculloch electramac em250 chain saw

Adjust the chain until you can pull on it and it will come away from the bar but will not hang from the bar. If that does not solve your problem then the chain or drive gear is worn out. If the oiler is not working it is for sure worn out.

Electric chain saw - when plugged in it starts to run WITHOUT pressing trigger. SCARY! must be unplugged to stop. Have had chain saw for 10 years and this problems just started.

obviously you need a new trigger switch, after 10 years you cant complain ,try giving it a squirt of crc . it may be just a little sticky ,but at its age put anew switch in if you can get one
