Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

Ps3 will not recognize wired or wireless controller

I have tried plugging my phone through usb and it charges it. Also, the console stand is still lighting up blue when plugged into usb port. I have tried resetting controller and buying a new usb cord. I have also bought a wired controller and the system doesn't recognize it either. The system is about a year and a half old. I really don't want to buy another one especially if it is a simple fix. Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

SOURCE: Help Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver For Windows, help help

Hello my name is Tim Ehrhart, If the reciever is not lighting up then it is dead, you can try to take it to walmart and exchange it for a working one, they are usualy good at swapping out and if they give you a hard time buy a new one and return it with the old reciever instead of the new one. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Unusual situation - won't recognize rear USB, wireless controllers, or memory card

I had the same problem started yesterday. I stumbled accross this thread. This situation is not an issue with the controllers it is with the console. The solution that worked for me is turning the xbox on. Leaning it forward unplugging the power cable from the back while the console was running and then plugging back in and booting up. Everything working fine now. My bosses console had this similar issue too; we fixed it a similar way by doing the power loss reset, and then a couple days later it red ringed on him.

PS3 controller Problem

I just fixed mine. The controller itself needs to be reset. There is a reset button on the back of the controller, above the top right hand corner of the square with all on the information and barcode. Press it with a sharp tipped object while still connected to the PS3 via USB cable. Then press the PS button and you should be back on wirelessly.
