Question about Acer TravelMate 2300 Notebook
My Acer TravelMate 2300 notebook will not power on under any circumstances. Does not appear to be charging either. Will not power on with fully charged battery from another acer.
Hi guys, I just received notebook from friend. It is ACER travel mate 2410 - She told me that it was in service but noone could help her and they told that it is dead. As a fool for electronics I check it and found that it is not completely dead - it have just problem with charging - the stick in the middle of charging plug is broken off and need to put it back. Try to look into that hole where you usually put charging cable if there is everything OK - they use there bad plastic material what can broke anytime. Just try to charge battery in any other computer like yours and you will find that it will work when you put charged battery back into your computer.

The problem could be your bezel. Remove the 3 screws from the hinges from the rear and you will be able to remove the black strip above the keyboard (after removing the screws, make sure laptop is layed wide open) once removed, press the button on the motherboard under where the power button is. If the unit still does not power up, then your motherboard is bad and needs to be replaced. If it does power up, you need to replace the bezel.

If everything is plugged in correctly and it still will not power on,
follow these steps to complete a ˜power reset' of the notebook.
1. Unplug the ac adapter. Keep ac adapter unplugged.
2. Remove the battery and keep the battery unplugged.
Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds. (Nothing will appear on the display and none of the lights will light up.)
3. Release the power button and plug in the ac adapter ONLY. (Please note that a power indicator light should be lit on the ac adapter when it is plugged in).
4. Normally power on the notebook.
If the unit does not power on, remove the ac adapter and insert the battery into the system.
5. Plug the ac adapter back into the system, the battery charging indicator light will light up.
6. If the battery charging indicator light does not light up, the ac
adapter may not be providing proper power to the unit, and may need to be replaced.
