How to dry basil leaves

Make sure they are clean and free of bugs or webs. Make sure to look under the leaves. Take paper towels and lay them out flat. Take the leaves off the stems and lay them out on the paper towels flat. Time will do the rest. Don't try to speed things up with a fan, hair dryer or the like it will not turn out well. To check if they are dry enough to package, take one and bend it in half, it should snap like a cracker.

Mortar and Pestle to make Pesto

Many have chosen to be lazy and try to make pesto with a food processor. However it is widely known that the best way to make pesto is by using a mortar and pestle.
Here is an Italian recipe for the traditional Pesto Genovese:

Ingredients:
2 cloves of garlic
a pinch of kosher salt
100 ml of extravergin olive oil
50 gr of basil leaves
30 gr of grated pecorino cheese
1 tbs of pine nuts
70 gr of grated parmesan

Instructions:
First of all basil leaves should not be washed, rather cleaned with a soft cloth.
Take the peeled garlic cloves and put them in the mortar with a bit of kosher salt. Start grinding.
When the garlic will look creamy add the basil leaves with a pinch of kosher salt and grind.
The grinding should be done towards the walls of the mortar, turning the pestle right and left and the mortar the opposite way.
Continue until the leaves will release a bright liquid, then add the pine nuts and keep grinding.
Add the cheeses a bit at a time, mixing all the time.
Last add the oil, slowly, in a thin line, while mixing.
Mix well until all is one cream.
All the grinding and mixing should be done exclusively in a marble mortar and using a wooden pestle. No metal should be involved.

Just installed a Jado Basil Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet and the water flow is incredibly slow! Removed the check valve from the sprayer and it didn't help. Any other suggestions? Flow is...

The specs say that there are two check valves but the diagram does not show them. Take the weight off the hose and see if it is causing the restriction. If it is not, what is the water pressure in the house? The 2.2 GPM is the maximum flow rate.

If I combine the avocado with basil etc. to make pesto sauce, can I freeze it in freezer bags to use later?

short answer. yes.
becareful with mixing in an other type of oils or lemon juices etc. as these have different freezing properties and will make the product rehydrate with a lumpy texture. straight Avo with basil blended and popped into a freezer in a sealed container should work no problems. storage for up to 3-5months depending on freezer temps and how ripe the avocado was to begin with.

Does it matter what time of year i plant basil seeds?

They should be planted in late spring because basil needs heat to grow.

Are there herbs that donot freeze well? I heard that not all types of herbs respond well to being put in the freezer?

You are right. Soft herbs such as mint, basil, dill and verbena are very delicate and don't freeze well. Their flavor changes in the freezing process. So with those herbs I just stick to fresh.

What is the best recipe for cooking corn

There are literally thousands of recipes for cooking corn on the internet. Here is just one of them, if this is not to your liking chose from the wide choice by just Googling for Corn recipes.

Corn on the cob - grilled with Chili and Basil Butter

4 large ears of corn on the cob

Chili and basil butter

125 gr butter
1 large chili
5 large basil leaves
1 clove garlic - crushed
salt/pepper

Peel back the husks from the corn, leaving them attached at the base. Remove silky hair from corn and discard. Fold husks back over corn and tie with a piece of string to keep closed. Some people say you must soak the corn in water for a couple of hours..well, I did not and I think the result was still perfect. Turn the corn frequently while grilling, all the time basting the corn. Serve with more of that delicious butter as a side dish to a BBQ or as a wholesome vegetarian supper!

I want to change the light bulbs in my dash board. how?

look at the whole basil, there is a front cover, that is over, the basil, take all screws out of the plastic cover, then you will have screws holding the actual basil in, i believe they are either a quarter inch or five sixteenth, take them out the whole speedo cluster should pull out some , you may have to take speedo cable loose, also they might be some plugs you have to remove, mark them if needed, to remember where they go, once that is done, flip the cluster over, and all the bulbs twist out, replace the same way you took out

Why did't my garden do well?

You can do either, if you purchase a new seed kit you know the varities have been tested and grow in an AeroGarden. If you plant yourself, but sure to look for small or dwarf varities and lean toward water loving plants.
What problems did you have with your other herbs, not basil?
