Hi, UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the fuse. It is white and ¼” wide and 3” long. It is located on the blower housing. Remove the wires and check to see if it has continuity. If it does not, you need to replace it. THis is the most common problem.
Please let me know if this help or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

i had this same problem it sounds like a thermal fuse its usualy a small device white mabe with 2 wires connected to it on the back of your dryer there might be a cover plate but you shouldn't have to tear into your dryer, you can also check em with an Ohms tester,to see if the thermal fuse is working properly

When I push the start button on my Kenmore 700 series dryer nothing happens. You can hear the timer clicking as if it is getting power, but the dryer doesn't come on. Could this be a defective timer?

Check the door saftey switch and the start button for continuety.
My bet is the door switch.
Then look at the timer if both those are good.

Our old Kenmore Model:65801 quit working. You can hear the timer running but nothing happens when you push the start button.

Try pushing the door switch in with your finger while trying to start. If works, see if the door fits tightly and the hinges are not worn out. Another trick is glue something to the door where the switch strikes so that the button is pushed further.

Dryer Won't Start

Make sure it has power. Then:Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top right of door opening. If it is not there you will need new door switch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and does not click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuse is an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

Door switch part number 3406109
Thermal fuse part number 3392519

Kenmore series 70 mod#110.62722100

check the door switch first if it is ok ..(doors not popping open) then the PTS (push to Start) switch is most likely bad as it wont hold in after it was pressed

most likely its the timer it has electrical contacts built on the timer that allow it to start its cycle if the timer has bad contacts it wont allow dryer to come on
