as i drive, occasionally i can feel it drop for e second and then catch and keep running. it seems that while traveling higher rpms, it " works through" the issue.as i drive, occasionally i can feel it drop for e second and then catch and keep running. it seems that while traveling higher rpms, it " works through" the issue.

First check the spark plug see if its firing or not. Check the plug wire with an ohms meter see if there is resistance if not replace plugwire.Check distributer cap replace if there white gunk on the terminals. One of these should help you. If not then its an internal engine problem like a blown head gasket or cracked head. Maybe a dropped valve or a hole in the piston. You need a compression gauge to check those things. If you have less than 150 pounds of compression id say its one of the last things on my list. Also it could be a lifter that is loosing its prime. My dodge caravan did this and it was a burned valve. I replaced it and it ran just fine afterwards. Hope this helps ya!! Have a great day
then i would replace whats called the hall effect sensor its that black plastic plate you see when you take dist cap off. just pull rotor and lift up the sensor.dist cap is what holds it on.also under the sensor will be a stamped sheet metal piece that looks like the top of a castle wall. make sure its not loose on the shaft.if it is then new dist will be needed
the first suspect is the igniton switch. when this happens, take the ign key and just barlely turn it, either way, not enough to go off/on just a little tweak, it the lights come back on or flicker, that ign switch will need replacement.
it just died...setting at a stop light.
