Question about Jensen Audiovox Cnpjen1 Specific Xm Adapter Audiovox Cnp2000uca Tuner

Open Question

Och1 won't recognize cnp2000uca

I installed the firmware for the advent och1 head unit, but after i plug it into the radio, the radio still wont recognize the cnp2000uca unit. The button for XM is still greyed out and it won't let me choose it. This is my second tuner and cenjen1 cord, so i know they aren't the problem.

My computer wont detect the mp3 and connect

Is the player working normally otherwise?

If so, then try the player in a different USB port on your computer. When plugged in, the display of the Pearl should say that it is connected to a USB device and it will show up automatically as a removable external drive in your windows explorer.

If not, then upgrade the firmware in the unit and the computer will recognize it again. Download the firmware upgradefrom http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1, and follow all the troubleshooting instructions that popup when you start the program:

start the program,
remove the battery,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button the the term "initalizing" replaces "searching",
check the box that says "format data" (you can try it first without this checked, it may work and will save your music),
click the start button to replace the firmware.

After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again.

Cant find the firmware version that was on it it

When my computer wouldn't recognize my Pearl, these are the steps I followed after downloading the firmware upgrade from http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1.
This program installed firmware v1.2.5.0

remove the battery,
start the program,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button when the term "initializing" replaces "searching",
click the start button to replace the firmware.

You might want to try leaving the "format data" box unchecked the first time. If that doesn't work and allow you to backup your music, bite the bullet and format the data area.

After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again. It also fixed my aac-error problem after I did it a second time and allowed it to format.

Am on radio will work fm wont work

Unfortunately the FM Modulator inside the Head Unit has stopped working. The only solution for this is to replace the Head unit or install an Aftermarket Head Unit.

XM Direct

Resetting the head unit will make it look for anything that is connected to it recently or even already is for a long time. Make sure your head unit's memory cable is constant power (direct to battery) to retain in its memory that the xmdirect2 unit is already connected. There must be a loose cable when it is not recognized as a source like the power cable from the adapter which should be on constant power. You should hear a click sound on the xmdirect2 module whenever you turn to xm source on the radio. The CC tech that was actually solved the problem by chance if he couldn't explain this to you. Loosing signal is different

Static thru speakers at mid-high volume all the time

Your head unit may not have a common ground for the speakers. If you have two wires for each speaker coming from the head unit, rewire the speakers for a floating ground, that means two wires per speaker, or use a floating ground adaptor. These radios now a days are NOT like the radios in the hay days of care audio. If you already did not cause any damage to your unit, you certainly will if you continue to use it the way it is hooked up now. Good Luck
