From your computer, make sure you haven't exceeded your number of authorized devices (10). Sometimes replacing a device doesn't unauthorize it (you need to do that manually), chewing into your allotment. Once you hit 10, you will experience odd behaviour.

From within iTunes, sign into the account in question, then View your account. On the summary page, manage your devices. You can mass de-authorize them all or just ones you don't recognize, and then just manually re authorize each device by logging into it directly.

SOURCE: Updating N95 Software

Make sure to update your Nokia Suite application before updating.

I recall there being an issue when updated the phone software with the steps being Backup to your PC, Update software and Restore from your PC but since the update changes some of the phones software the older Nokia Suite was no longer compatible and came back with an error.

If you can, I also suggest running a backup to your memory card, you can never have enough backups when upgrading these phones.

Sounds like you need to fully back up your iPhone by syncing it with iTunes. Make sure all your contacts are saved to your sim and anything else important is saved somewhere else.

Once you are sure you have backed everything up plug your iPhone into your computer and load iTunes.

Select your iPhone on the right in iTunes and in the Summary tab there will be a Restore option.

Click that to restore to factory settings and solve your problem.

SOURCE: tryed reseting iphone now phone stop working seeing USB and itune

Try blowing at the bottom of the phone and plugging it in an out several times.
If recovery mode is not working, make sure it is plugged in.
Hold down the Power and Home buttons for roughly 7 seconds until you see the screen go out.
Wait several seconds to make sure that it doesn't power back on.
Once you have the phone off, hold down the home and power button for 10 seconds before letting go of the power button.
There should be nothing on the screen and it should appear as though it is off.
It may take several tries to do this correctly.
Does itunes recognize it now?

I advise you not to wait. If you have an laptop or desktop you need to download itunes. After downloading connect your device make sure its off. Once off and connected hold home and power button until itunes logo pops up. On the laptop or desktop a sign should pop up saying recover or update press recover if its says you need to update then update and wait until its finished. Then press recover and you should see the ipad change screens. After that process you should see multiple languages. Now you have reseted your ipad.( if fails try again)

How do i unlock my ipad i bought it used and i dont have a password and now it is locked and asking for password

You will have to restore it by connecting to iTunes on your computer. That will erase all settings including the password. If you have a backup you can get it then set up as a new device with a new password.

What iOS are you running?, and how much free space you have?
iOS 7 requires 2.5 gigs free space. Then update via Itunes on your computer or wifi. if it's the original ipad it maxes out to iOS 5.1.1.

Need to update my ipad 2 to iOS 7.1

There are two ways to upgrade the iOS of your iPad
- via connecting the device to iTunes on a computer
- or directly from within the device
so in your case you can try connecting the iPad to a computer with iTunes installed
procedure:

  • Connect your iOS device to your computer using an USB cable. Wait for iTunes to open and connect to your device.
  • Click on device button to the left of the iTunes Store button in the top right corner in iTunes.
  • Hold down on the option key (Mac) or the shift key (Windows) and click the "Check for Update" button in the Summary pane. Browse to the .ipsw file you downloaded and select it.
  • Do not disconnect your device until the update has finished.
  • If necessary, restore your device from the previous backup and sync with iTunes.

Please post the solution. Why is there no "software update" on my IPad 2?

There are two ways to upgrade the iOS version of your iPad
- via connecting the device to iTunes on a computer

- or directly from within the device, but only since iOS 5, it is possible to upgrade the iOS version without the need to connect the iOS device to a computer (over-the-air update)
just go to: settings - general - software update
- so in your case try an update with a computer with iTunes installed:
- procedure with iTunes connected:
  • Connect your iOS device to your computer using an USB cable. Wait for iTunes to open and connect to your device.
  • Click on device button to the left of the iTunes Store button in the top right corner in iTunes.
  • Hold down on the option key (Mac) or the shift key (Windows) and click the "Check for Update" button in the Summary pane. Browse to the .ipsw file you downloaded and select it.

IPad shuts down itself

It seems that you've already tried reset (holding the home and power buttons, right?) the iPad and it does not work.

So you may need to connect your iPad to your computer and do a factory restore using iTunes.
