Question about Washing Machines
So...I replaced the outer tub on my whirlpool cabrio. Upon finishing I could not find a socket tool. Well..weeks later the washer stopped working again. This time giving an f50 code. I took things apart and what do you know I found the socket and the rotor was torn apart. I took out the socket and tried it again...still getting the f50 code. The motor is not spinning. What plans of measure/elimination should I start in getting this back working? Is there a fuse that may have burned out? Would the motor have gone bad? Thank you..

SOURCE: code f50
It has a faulty control board. sorry but this a bad part from the factory. There is class action lawsuit against whirlpool about it. Call and complain and then maybe they will pay to fix it.

this code would indicate rps sensor at motor. whirlpools are very bad with electronics and control boards. New rps sensor requires new harness as well.

F50 - This is a motor stalled failure. If this persists you will eventually need to call in a service engineer to repair it as the machine will eventually stop working altogether.

JUST SPOKE WITH WHIRLPOOL ABOUT THE F-50 CODE. THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY ARE PAYING TO FIX IT. ALSO THE CONTROLL BOARD AND THE RPS SENSOR MUST BE REPLACED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE OWNER MUST CALL WHIRLPOOL, NOT THE TECH, TO GET THEM TO PAY FOR IT. HOPE THIS HELPS.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Cabrio Washer
The F50 error code indicates that the RPS (rotor position sensor) detects no motor rotation. Check to see if the basket spins freely. If not, you could have an item caught between the outer tub and the inner spin basket. A toy or other item underneath the washer could also prevent the basket from spinning and would result in this F50 code.
If the basket spins freely, you could have a wiring failure that would prevent the motor from spinning.
