Your new laptop,

Are you searching for a new wireless network? Then your router doesn't show up on the list of networks?

I can rephrase if need be.

I have a Linksys Wireless G router, which is old and getting slow. I tried installing a new Linksys router which would not connect to the internet (I tried a bunch of solutions from Linksys but was...

1. Before you connect anything you need to reboot your isp modem So that a new DHCP can be assigned to the router.

Also keep in mind here you must install the router software BEFORE connecting it to the MODEM so that way the computers are configured to the router then the ISP is then hooked up.

Now I am not saying you got a bad NEW router when I make this statment I think if all else fails you got a DOA dead on arrival. Now there is a RESET button its like a pin hole have you tried using that reset?

Let me know what your tried, howeverp lease leave me a ratings and some feedback for your free help.

Wifi getting connected with new linksys

You need to call Linksys again for them to help you setup the other computer. For the none-working computer, you don't need to run the setup CD for the router. All you need to do is connect to wireless network like what you did on the working laptop.

My laptop won't work wireless

Use windows network setup wizard to help in setting up your wireless. The wizard can search for your wireless. Some people believe you gan get away without using Linksys's software & I agree to a point. However Linksys believes to maintain a good connection you should install the software for the wireless router. You can download it from the link below. Check out the link "Learning Center". You might find it helpful.
I suggest to all running a wireless connection to set up security with a password to keep freeloaders from tapping into your bandwith for free.

IE will not connect to internet

First I am not connected with the product that I am recomending in any way shape or form.

On a wired PC download Network Magic (the free version is all you will need). Burn a CD with it and install on the laptop. Bring up Network Magic and use it to connect to the network. If it can not find the network, run Network Magic on your wired PC and bring up the Network Map and look to see if you can see your router on the network. Log into the router and start by reseting the wireless.

I use this product on all my laptops and desktops it makes networking simple.
