How do I access the defroster drain pan under the Samsung model RF4287HARS/XAA refridgerator to empty it?

If the drain itself is clogged or frozen, it should be cleared. It is located under evaporator coils behind inside back freezer wall panel. The defrost pan itself under unit should have no need for emptying unless there’s a defrost problem that could create a lot of water at once when thawed. Heat under unit normally evaporates what little bit of water that’s created under normal circumstances

My ice maker on model#rf267aers keeps getting clumping together ice in the bin? Also notice Ice cycles from top area when bin is removed? how to dis assemble or what part might need to be replaced?

defrost cycle will cause ice to melt slightly and stick together. If it happens too often, it may be cycling the defroster too often. That may be caused by opening the freezer too often.

Why is water pooling on bottom of refrigerator under the fresh food drawers

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

Your purchased a high price Samsung refrigerator. About 60% of my service calls were either Samsung or LG models. They look great on the show floor.

Your unit has two cooling evaporator coils. One in the freezer which is common and one in the fresh food section which is not common. All Sansung has done is add another series of high failure components.

You have a frozen drain in your fresh food section. You can either call a service company or shut down your refrigerator for 36-24 hours to defrost the drain. You call a service company, if I were still working for Sears, I would have to charge you about $350.00 to tear out the back wall and replace this usless coil.

Turn off your refrigerator for 24-36 hours. Hopefully it is not a fan or a colling coil failure in your refrigerator.

We have ice sheets forming under cool select pantry drawer of our refrigerator. What should we do?

the fan usually stops working due to ice obstruction when the defrost terminator has gone out and u get ice build up? u can check the terminator with a multi meter for continuity but do not check at room temperature. stick the terminator in cup of ice water for 20 minutes then check it for continuity, should be closed when cold and open at room temperature. May also need to check the defrost timer, u can get by and test manually by placing a small screw driver into the tiny slot or hole underneath the timer and turn slowly clockwise till u hear 1 click. this will engage ur defrost cycle in about 15 minutes u should be able to come back and feel the heat in freezer as it melts the ice providing ur terminator is not bad?

Ice buildup in frig above evap coils. Defrost coils seem to work, at least on manual. Samsung mdl RF266AES/XAA

If the defrost element is working the you have to totally defrost the evaporator, kick it back into life & all should be ok. Air intruding into freezer could be the cause of the frost, make shure the seals are ok & in place, make sure the doors are closing all the way.

Does my fridge have a defrost timer? The first time the fridge quit working we had a repair person come figure out. He found the circulation fan was frozen in the back panel inside the fridge. He turned...

This is a very common problem with Samsung refrigerators especially the type that has two evaporators. The evaporator that is inside the fresh food section and will usally give people the most problems. The drain below the evaporator in the fresh food section will begin to freeze over or become blocked by gunk inside the drain line. When this happens it causes the fresh food section to retain water because with the drain blocked the moisture and defrost condensate water now have nowhere to go. Once that drain is blocked the freezing over of the evaporator will begin to happen more often slowing down defrost which again make problems worse. Clean the drain, make sure the refrigerator is level and confirm the model number of your refrigerator. Your model has no defrost timer and defrost are determined by the motherboard. There is a way to force defrost with your model from the motherboard but until the drain is cleaned out defrost will not help much because the water has no where to go but to freeze over the evaporator and fan area of the fresh food section evaporator. Is your model the?=>RF267AERS I am here if you have questions, Sea Breeze

Rf267aers leaking water

Your going to need to empty out the fridge, take the shelves out, and then remove the rear wall inside to gain access to the evaporator area. Once you can see the evaporator look directly below it and you'll noticed a trough of sorts that should have a drain hole in the middle of it. More than likely this is clogged and needs to be cleared so water can flow smoothly out of the machine

Rf267aers leaking water

If the water is coming from the inside of the freezer or the fridge, Remove the back wall inside the machine to expose the evaporator coils. Directly below the coils there should be a drain hole that water can flow smoothly down. If there are any signs of ice there more than likely the drain is clogged
