Question about Fishman Music
Martin Guitar with a Fishman Classic4. New 9VDC battery installed, LED blips once only. I can slide the Fishman out, squeeze the battery tighter to the connections (assuming it was too loose) and same - only one blip. I even went as far as removing the whole unit from the body of the guitar in order to wiggle test, tap, squeeze anything, and still the same - one blip only and can hear a faint pop in the Amp that the guitar is plugged into. i am pretty handy and knowledgeable in electronics and am suspecting an internal problem in the Fishman's IC board/components. Thanks in advance!
Its possible that if you changed strings the saddle might have changed position in its slot. It has to sit uniformly on top of the piezo element in order to work properly. Try testing the pickup(piezo element) first before suspecting the preamp.
