This sounds like a driver issue. You could try checking the maker's website to check if they have any updated drivers and installing them. If that doesn't work then try uninstalling the card from device manager and doing a restart. Windows should recognize the card and reinstall. It should ask if you have a disc and if you do then try using the drivers that are on the disc. The last thing you could do if these two suggestions don't work is to disable the onboard sound card (if there is one) by turning it off from the BIOS settings. Sometimes two sound devices can conflict.
