Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Woofer making horrible noise! HELP!

Think as an expert... Probably from my experience repairing woofers etc... the cone (1) or the spider (2) isn't well glued onto the woofer skeleton(or both???) The woofer cone must be absolutely centered or else you will get those clicks in low frequencies(you also get them in higher frequencies but you can't hear them!) I must say that it is very difficult to repair a woofer by your own. I suggest to return it back where you bought it and take another one (i suppose that you have a guarantee ha?).

SOURCE: alpine sub woofer

your speakers are hooked up wrong. hook both positives together and both negatives together and bridge it to the amp. if it is one channel hook it up as one together. if it is 2 channel hook positive to one side and negative to the other side.

Hi i purchased the bnps102 woofers and used them for 2 weeks i really enjoyed them and i also purchased the pyle 1400 watt amp and a jvc deck along with the boss amp kit installation now the speakers about...

If the lights on your sub box aren't coming on it's either your ground of power wire came loose or the transformer blew. As for the subs, make sure all the connections are good, especially on your RCA wires. If your amp is getting power, then check your speaker connections. Also, make sure to turn the gain know up. The gain knob is located next to the RCA input on the amp. Let me know if this helps.

The transformer of my sub-woofer is burnt. When i take it to the repair shop, they say that the transformer is not available. I badly need to fix the speaker as i love them very much and the new ones are...

Sub woofers have small amplifiers , not transformers. The amplifier is removable and replaceable. The The overall size and the output wattage are the spec's you need . The output wattage is on the label which is attached somewhere on the speaker. You do NOT need to replace the amp with the Altec Lansing brand. Have you contacted Altec Lansing to purchase a replacement Amp? That's where I would start. If they cannot help you I would Google replacement amp sub-woofer, Altec Lansing model MX5021.
good luck

Run a sub woofer to a peavey board

I would recommend using a separate active crossover such as the Peavey 23XO and a separate amp for your subs.

MT HT-TX52 WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS, THEN THE SUB WOOFER WOULD MAKE A VERY LOUD CRACKELING NOISE ALL OF A SUDDEN, BUT ONLY ONCE IN A WHILE, SO I UNPLUGGED IT AND JUST RAN THE OTHER 4 SPEAKERS. WORKED...

Maybe a capacitor in the amp section is making this problem. The only way to find out is to check receiver in service and find which capacitor is bad...but this is not so easy

Car audio sub woofers

is it the car vibrating or the sub making the noise ? if its the sub making the noise check all the screws holding in the sub and make sure they are tight or make sure nothing got sucked into your box if it is the car making the noise try using dyna mat to help stop the noise also check the surround on the sub and make sure there is no seperation of the surround from the cone

Bose acousticmass 15 sub-woofer making a noise

The sub contains the amp for the other speakers. But it sounds like the amp has a seriously damaged section and will probably have to be serviced by Bose.

Sub-woofer Malfunction

sub can be detecting signal from your amp. maybe your amp has some small output when in standby mode. some amps throughput signal from satellite boxes when they are supposed to be off.
try shutting off that signal source as well.
good luck
