Question about Philips Audio Players & Recorders
DVD is stuck mid film and player says starting I have a Philips HTS3541/05 Home Cinema and a disc is stuck in the tray. We were played a film last night and it just stopped and now it only says starting on the screen and I cannot eject. I have tried turning completely off (plus overnight) but still the same. I am downloading new firmware onto a usb but it tells me not to upgrade if there is a disc still in. Philips advise to return to store, but I was hoping for a fix as stupidly I cannot find the receipt!
If you bought it with a credit card you should have up to 90 days to return it. You will void the warranty if you try my solution. look on the back and sides. There should be some small screws. Take them out and then slide the back off of the player. You should be able to see the disk tray. Some systems have a manual eject button hidden somewhere inside. Once it is open you should be able to find the model number of the dvd drive. Look up the specs and see if you can find the button. Otherwise you can try to force it open. Be extremely careful if you do this. You could strip the gears and or break it. If the gears are exposed use a small flat head screw driver and slowly turn the gears till it opens. I hope this helps.

You can try reseting the unit.
Reset the set to the default factory settings:
All the information stored
(programmes, time and date) will be lost.
1. Disconnect the set from power supply.
2. Press and hold down "STANDBY•ON" on the set and reconnect the set.
3. As soon as "IS TV ON?" is displayed, release "STANDBY•ON."
Hopefully reseting it will clear whatever problem it is having and allow you to once again use your DVD player.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Turn on the HT with no DVD. Press the following buttons on the remote: ENTER 8, 4, 2, 6, 9 ENTER
It will turn off. When turned again on it is a region free HT.
