Faulty Panasonic camcorder (tele setting)

Fault - camera is on telephoto and focus is on close up.

The camcorder replays fine, suspect the wide/tele button which is now vol+/- is not adjusting the volume.

The camcorder records fine but it is in close up and the focus will not change.

Is it a button fault or a focusing motor fault?
