Ok.. that sounds like a timing problem. But let me ask you this... Do you ever turn your hand wheel backwards? If so break yourself of that habit. Turning the wheel the wrong way often throws off the timing, sometimes even breaks stuff inside.
If you have already spent 3x what you paid for the machine, donate it and get another better machine. Janome, Pfaff, Husqvarna area all better than Brother.
