Question about Televison & Video
I need to order a new replacement bulb for my kf e50a10 sony wega tv. But I wasn't sure if there was a difference between the kf e50a10 bulb and the kfd e50a10 bulb? I looked them both up and they both look the same. So can Iput either one of them in my tv or only the kf e50a10 one?
Take the sample out when you go to purchase the new ,cause then you can be sure all values are correct and that it looks the same or take a picture with the values and send to your supplier.

Testimonial: "That would be easiest, but I don't have a local repair shop in my area who carries those parts. They said that they could try to order it but the only one that they have on they're order form in the kdf e50a10. And there's no returns on ordered product that they don't usually carry. Its a bit of pain."

can you go to the error menu?
im assuming it's the lamp however the error menu will tell me more
If the standby light blinks five times repeatedly, that's indication of a "Lamp driver error". The probable cause listed is, "lamp driver faulty". Its also possible that the internal antenna used to detect the presence of high voltage has become mis-positioned. The lamp driver provides the high voltage. If no high voltage is detected, it is assumed that the lamp driver is faulty.
Otherwise, it is assumed that the lamp is bad and the LAMP LED lights

Authorized sony repair center told me the problem was the Q Box. Ever
heard of this? Part runs about 300 bucks. TV is out of warrenty as it
is 2 years old. Do you think it is worth it to fight sony and get them
to replace the part or just fix the TV?
Part Number is A1167541A, service rep called it a Q Box in the diag, however the web says its the b block assmy.
read this if you think it's the same problem

When you are in front of tv grasp the right side of the front grill and pull it off, the lamp door is right behind it. Unscrew the cover and remove it, you will need the allen wrench provided with the new lamp to remove the old lamp just unscrew it and pull it out.

New bulb is just fine.
3 blink shows that lamp cover after replacement of bulb in TV is not fixed properly or not seated well in its position.
Put new bulb and carefully place back lamp cover in its position because lamp cover will press tinny safety switch inside that will send signal to system control of TV that lamp is installed properly.
Turn On TV and get vivid picture of Sony.

Actually if you can remove them from their heat sinks and wipe off the heat sink goop, the actual part number will be listed on them.
