Roof top air conditioner or condenser fan with not come on

Now it all depends weather you have a call for cooling, now assuming you do and the compresser is running I would theck the contractor to see if it is closing and all of the contacts are still there. If it is not closing then you have to check for the power supply to the coil usuall 24v, if the power is there then use an ohm meter to check the continuity o. The coil on the contractor. If it reads OL then it is shot and replace the contractor. If the contractor is pulled in then check for power on both sides of the contractor, if power tree then access the motor after turning the power off, if the motor is hot then it is probubally done fore, you again can check it with your ohm meter. If the motor reads OL she is done fore and needs to be replaced. Good luck

This is for the Porter Cable H650IS-W-1 Contractor Generator. It has an idle/RPM control solenoid that adjusts to the load on the generator. I can see that the solenoid works because 9VDC applied to it...

I do not think that your generator has a voltage regulator. The solenoid is for idle only when there is no demand (power being used). You can verify this by examing the governor spring /tension adjuster on the engine. Idle control switch on panel and the assembly board control the solenoid. When the assembly board fails generally the generator will function the same however there will be no idle. I have checked with Dewalt and parts are available however expensive. If idle is the only problem you may consider ignoring issue. If there is another problem with gen. please email.

Replacing a Coleman with a Duotherm, can the same thermostat and controls be used?

Hi, yes you can use the same thermostat if you are replacing the unit that has the same sequence of operation. What I mean is, if the old unit is a gas fired furnace and outdoor condenser split system for the a/c you can use the same controls, or if its a package unit. Now, if you are installing a heat-pump unit in place of a gas fired central unit, you will need to pull more stat wire and buy a heat-pump thermostat to make it run.

My coleman generator idle does not go to low idle when there is load on the generator it has idle control.

I could not understand, it doesn't go in low idle when load is connected or no?

It should go to low speed idle with load under 20 - 30 W.

Most of these require one to insert a bolt in the end of the shaft and use a slide hammer to decouple the rotor from the engine. There is a keyway typically... possibly a Woodruff key.

Coleman kersene furnace in mbile home, (furnace is only 4 years old--just inspected 3 months ago) However,it ran fine last night, now it will not come on unless you hit the ret switch, then it tuns 20-30...

Sounds like a fuel or ignition problem. If the unit does ignite when its reset it could be a bad Cad eye or primary control. If it does not light off when reset,DO NOT re-rest anymore and call the Heating contractor back to inspect and repair.
