hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage.
Please check whether the battery is fully charged. Please try using a different battery. If the issue still persists after changing the battery try Power Resetting the Camera which should resolve the issue. To Power Reset the Camera, First, please turn OFF the Camera. Then, remove the battery pack from the Camera. Then, press and hold the POWER button on the Camera for 30 seconds. Then, reinsert the battery pack and check whether the issue is resolved.
I have a similar problem.. I recently found out it mostly happened when I was squeezing the right side of the camera or touching the card slot cover in some way... and I discovered that the camera turns off when you open the card slot cover, so it probably has to do with contacts that touch too easily and make the camera turn off when you shake the card slot cover somehow. Now that I know the source I'll see if there's a solution. Hope this helps!
mine was same turned out to be flat batteries, bought 4 new and they did not have the power to run it ,went for durracell and it worked fine for 5 photo's, had to stick with re-chargeables and it works fine, good luck
the power on button is located under de lens slyding thing, therefore probably is broken or just need to be glued to do that u will need to open the camera. the other u will need to replace a small battery on the mainboard. good luck
