Question about Grandstream HandyTone 486 ATA (HTATA486)

Open Question

High pitch sound instead of dial tone

I have installed the HandyTone 486 and it seems to work, however it has a high pitch tone when I pick up the telephone handset. Have I missed a setting?

SOURCE: My handy tone-486 box keeps flashing red every 3

Lifted this straight from the manual:

Button flashes every 4 seconds
(if SIP server is configured)
HT–486 fails to register

So basicly, that means your HandyTone 486 ATA fails to register with the SIP-server. That means you either have not recieved your IP-tele yet, or that your ISP have failed to register you.

Phone line repeatedly without reason goes to "in use" and will not go to a dial tone when receiver is picked up. the phone line does not do this when this att phone is not plugged into phone line

My first question would be, have you recently installed any after marked speakers, or radio into the car? You could have a grounded speaker wire, or connections not properly paired that could be causing the issues.

I set up the polycom as instructed... I even confirmed with my helpdesk that the line is analog. When i turn the unit on I get a high pitched buzzing sort of sound... no dial tone? I also cannot dial in...

Try to plug a cheap analog phone into the same line instead of the voicestation to verify that it is indeed analog. It sounds as if you connected the phone to a specialty PBX line or similar. There are analog PBX that only work with their own phones. You can also try to connect the phone at home and see if it works on your analog line at home.

A wrong pass word was entered and the devise was blocked.how can i access the device again?

you would need to factory reset the adapter if you dial *** then 02 it will give you ip address now if you put the ip address into your main web browser it will pull up a configuration page for your handy tone you will see a tab on the left hand side that says reset click that and factory reset the device this should wipe out all current configurations on tht device

One of my technics' 1200 turntable's tone gets too high

You can try adjusting the pitch's gain, which is located on the pitch control circuit board. Only problem is that you'll have to take apart your turntable in order to get to that section (its on the bottom).

If that does not work, your pitch might be bad, or one of the main circuit drive IC's might be bad.

Hope this helps some.

Dial Tone - Number Dialed does not go through

The problem is possibly the keypad on the phone. Try another phone , preferrably a standard corded phone. If you still cannot break the dial tone, then the problem is with the telephone line (phone company)
