SOURCE: blades will not engage when you pull up on the button

When you pull switch to turn on blades do you here a click sound ? If so clutch is most likely ok,did you check your belt to make sure its ok ?Seat switch is just a saftey feature it cuts all power to the clutch so thats why blades turn off, thats why I asked you if you here a click when pulling switch that will tell you if there is power to switch.there is also most likely a fuse in the line that goes from the clutch switch to clutch.

SOURCE: 2007 Husqvarna Riding mower blade will not engage

Sounds like you electric blade clutch is bad. I just had the same thing happen to my exmark mower. I was cutting grass and the engine just shut down. It would not crank over. Checked the fuses and replaced one blown fuse. The engine wanted to crank over but it was locked up. I looked the engine over and seen that the bearing in the electric clutch seized up causing the clutch to melt.

When I engage the mower, the blades spin just fine but there isn't the same mower sound. The mower sounds exactly the same when engaged and not engaged.

If the blades are not installed correctly they wont cause the desired airflow and you wont hear the difference.

The mower blades are engaged at all times. The switch that disengages blades does not work. A safety issue exists. What can you advise?

Sounds like the switch is defective and must be replaced..in the meantime...locate the wire connecting to the electric clutch fro the bad switch, shut the mower off and disconnect the wire from the clutch..you can operate the mower when not using the blades....just remember make sure you shut it down before attempting to pull the wire off the clutch..this is only a Temporary fix...good luck..

your belt has most likely jumped out of it's intended route, or has broken, check with engine NOT running keys out switch off, pull engage knob and try to manually move blades if they move while knob is engaged, belt is broken or off track

Blades wont ingage

I would check the belt, the pulleys and the tension of the pulleys. Any of these could be the cause of your issue. Hope this helps!

Engine cuts out immediately when blades are engaged - new mower

Hello,

Check the seat switch. If it is loose/out of adjustment, the mower will die when the blade is engaged. The logic of the mower requires the operator to be present (on the seat) for the blades to engage, or for the mower to move. All of the safety switches are dependent on the seat switch. Dirty connections at the switch, or the switch being out of position is the likely culprit.

Blades will not engage on Husqvarna riding mower.

Could be a broken belt, loose belt (stretched) or something is under the mower deck jamming the blades. (stick for an example)
