Question about Ricoh 6513 Copier

2 Answers

Ricoh 6513 / Fiery E710; Lilo loading / please wait

We replaced the Cmos-battery and since that time our fiery does not boot any longer.
Lilo loading starts, the green HD LED is flickering for 2 to 3 minutes and then booting stops. "Please wait" is the only display message we see.

We own the original software but can not see a way to reinstall ist.

If you have any idea, thank you in advance.

Regards, Klaus

Please. If you have the original software, we need your help. We've been trying for months without success to locate it. We purchased the copier/printer for our office from a liquidator. However, we have been unable to use it as a printer, due to the passwords that were left on it. The liquidator provided no additional information. We know that an external SCSI CD-Drive is needed to reinstall it. From what we've been told, it has to be connected to the dongle on the scsi port. Start the copier with the CD Software in the drive, and it will reinstall the Fiery Controller in about 20 minutes or so. Problem is, we don't have the software. If we could obtain ISO's of the CD's, we could finally setup our Ricoh and be able to print to it. Please contact me or add me to your live msn messenger contact list (ehandler3@hotmail.com). You can transfer the iso files directly to me.

Been a while since I have seen one of these. But if you have the system software it needs to reinstalled. You need a stand alone cd drive and a scsi cable( I think ).

How to verify that the CMOS battery needs to replace

<p>The CMOS battery is named after the Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor power. The CMOS has the current date and time functions for desktop and laptop computers. It allows the computer to automatically adjust the time, even on computers that are disconnected for long time. Some computers have messages when the battery is weak, while others just lose the current date and time after each shutdown.<br /> <p>Time & Date Errors<span> </span><br /> <p><span> </span><br /> <p>1. Hi promano67

When you "start" the computer, and the {"Screen"} displays a "Error Message."[CMOS] "error checksum!"

Settings: "Default" loaded.A "checksum error" shows that:

The ("Boot-up Settings "have been changed?"), ie. "Booting OS."

"This can 'occur' if the computer was "shut-down unexpectedly."

Force Shut-down : Power lost; due to 'low battery...'

A ("Power Surge") can cause this 'problem' also.

"To fix the problem!"

Do the following:

  • "Restart / Boot the computer.

  • Next, verify if the 'error message' displays?

  • If you are still getting the message?

  • "You will have to "Remove the CMOS battery form the computer!"

  • Shut-down the computer.

  • There is a compartment (underneath) the "Notebook that 'store' the CMOS battery."

  • Remove the CMOS battery for a {'longer amount of time'}.

Motherboard red light stay on and computer won't turn on. Any ideas on what the promblem might be?

First try shutting down you're system. Than turn the PS off at the rocker switch (Back of PS). Ground you're self by touching the the PS. Remove you're memory and re-seat it. Than boot the system.
Check the standby LED. See if it lights green.
Pull the cmos battery and check its voltage. Anything under 2.4 volts replace the battery. Normally the MB LED displays green. (Standby power).
This means the MB is maintaining / charging the cmos battery. If the battery can no longer maintain charge this will cause the MB LED to turn Red. Built into the mother board is a small switch. When the system is shut down the MB maintains power to the cmos. If the standby switch fails to function correctly the LED will turn Red. Lets hope the problem is the cmos battery. The internal switch can not be repaired.

Cheers'

First Hello. Before few days, when I turn on my PC(but I was unpluged my machine from electricity) and on monitor displays CMOS wrong set date/time,cpu frequensy.I hit BIOS set up sittings and Windows xp...

Replacing the bios battery was the correct thing to do. Answer me this. The Asus motherboard should have a green LED light lit (Standby power LED), when the system is turned off. Also keep the power cord for the power supply connected at all times. Though it is possible the replacment bios battery was all ready low on voltage or dead. When you're system is turned off the power supply continues to send 5volt DC to the motherboard which maintains the bios 3volt DC.
If the green LED is not lit than there is no power charging the bios battery and every time you boot the system the bios will have lost its settings. If the green LED is red in color, than the problem is within the standby switch built into the motherboard. The standby circuit can not be repaired. Double check all power connectors from the power supply to the motherboard. If everything has a good connection and you're bios settings continue to reset you should consider replacing the motherboard. At this point you have nothing to loose. Install the latest bios update,
(Beta Version 1010.005). 2006/02/14 update.

Blinking battery

The battery has an internal failure, and needs to be replaced. The useful life of a main battery for a portable system is about 300 to 500 discharge/recharge cycles. (Roughly 1 to 2 years which is why they only have a 1 year warranty regardless of the length of the system warranty) The battery may still have limited functionality but it will continue to decline till it no longer works.

My acer netbbook wont come on the power light is litt

Mother board or memory module can be the problem. First remove the cmos battery and switch on, if its ok then reinstall the cmos battery and see.check with other memory module or if you have 2 modules one at a time. If problem persists, try heating the motherboard display chipset with a blower, if you are a hardware technician. This should be done by only a professional as u can damage the motherboard and other parts. Last resort is replace mother board.

My Compac Armada M700 does not power up.

Had the same problem with My Compaq M700 No Boot Or Post. Battery Light Flashes 8 Times, Have to Wait 24 to 48 hrs sometimes longer to get Laptop to Start. Tryed the DC Converter Board Change No Difference same Problem. Noticed When Laptop Did Start Clock Time Was always a Little Off 2-4 Hours sometimes more. So Figure CMOS Problem With Time Issues. Read About Battery Memory Transitor Voltage spike Detection Issues Corrected With Newer Bios Flash at HP Supports. So I Flashed Bios With Latest 686h. During the First Boot After Reflash Battery LED Did flash No Start, After pushing the power button again it Started. And has Every since. So Far Laptop Now Boots Everytime and CMOS Checksum Seems To Keep Time Correct In Windows. The Bios Flash Corrects a Voltage Spike Detecting Transistor In The Charging Circuit. During First Start after flash Bios will run system test on the charging system and Correct CMOS. Worked for Me Hope this Helps a Few.
