Re: istalling speakers

The socket for installing the Speaker pin is on the CPU and not on the Monitor. The Monitor is just an output device, just like the speaker and gets all its data from the CPU.

Look at the back of your CPU. Firstly you should be able to locate the pin coming out of your speakers and which is gonna connect to the computer. Once you have located this pin, there are three sockets just right for this speaker jack at the back of your CPU. Only one of the three is used for attaching a speaker.

Take a look at this link to get a clear understanding:

What should the connection from my vx2250 viewsonic monitor to my desktop look like?

If your monitor has built-in speakers, you should have a connecting cable with stereo mini plugs on both ends installed between the line out connector (usually green) of your sound card and the audio input connector on the monitor. I have an HP monitor with built-in speakers and that's how it is connected

No sound coming out of my hp monitor speakers. Monitor shows speakers are on and not muted. I have a green cord connected from my monitor to my desktop.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling

Can I use the my old HP speakers with my new HP? The old speakers have a peach, not green, material around the jack. The speakers that are built in with the monitor are working, but I think the old...

If the speakers are detachable from the monitor then try to put it in the jack where you usually put your speakers if you hear any sound it should work .the color coding is usually green but its not mandatory .

When I power on my speakers, they mnitor goes

Try putting monitor and the speakers on separate power point/wall sockets as your speakers may be powerful ones sucking in all the power from the same socket as the monitor.

Are these speakers adaptable with my Compaq Presario PC?

Hello my friend, with regards to your problem first we must check if your currentl audio device is compatible with your speakers. I mean you have a 5.1 speaker then let us check if your audio plugs is also a 5.1 channel in order to accomodate your speaker. else you can istall your speaker in to your currentl audio device but not all speakers were work cause it needs to have the same specs from your speaker to your audion device installed in your can only use the green, and blue then if you have mic the you could used the pink plugs but for your black plugs in your speaker it cannot be used.

My hp speakers wont work

Sample testing is usually a firmware built into the monitor amplifier ie the monitor is testing itself. you problem possibly lies with the computer sound system. Tell me more about this. Is it an 'On-board' sound card or separate PCI card. You can determine this by looking at the back of the computer- if all the connectors - sound- PS2 and USB are in the same panel - then it is an on-board system. If the sound is separate in one of the card position then it is a PCI card. The possibility is the sound system needs setting up- check your computer paperwork/manual and utilities disk for Audio drivers. Come back with some answers
