The socket for installing the Speaker pin is on the CPU and not on the Monitor. The Monitor is just an output device, just like the speaker and gets all its data from the CPU.

Look at the back of your CPU. Firstly you should be able to locate the pin coming out of your speakers and which is gonna connect to the computer. Once you have located this pin, there are three sockets just right for this speaker jack at the back of your CPU. Only one of the three is used for attaching a speaker.

Take a look at this link to get a clear understanding:

I have a hp w1907 and just wondering if that had

At this page you can see details about connecting the audio cable between the pc and your monitor. In two words all you have to do is connect the green audio jack from your pc tower (line out) with the green audio jack at the back of your monitor. In case you don't have the cable you can find one asking for it as "cable with 3.5mm stereo jack both ends"

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Sound does not work for monitor speakers. How do I fix?

You should try installing all the drivers included on your monitor. After installing the drivers, you should select the monitor speaker Audio output from your Sounds and Audio Devices Properties.

Hp monitro speakers not working

I think the sound drivers of your monitor may have got corrupted after formatting and hence you are facing the issue of speakers not working. Please try to rest the Monitor by turning off the monitor then press and hold the menu button and while you are still holding the menu button turn on the monitor and hold it still for 2 minutes. If the problem persists then you need to download the new drivers for your monitor from and install them to resolve the issue you are facing with.

No sound coming from new hp monitor through windows vista

Alright, I got the answer for ya, first, go into your control panel. Click on Sounds and Audio Devices. Listed in this window should be the name of your sound card. Under that, should be Device Volume, and at the bottom, should be the Speaker Settings, click into Advanced, next to speaker volume. It should show you a diagram of a monitor with the amount of speakers it has selected shown next to it. Where it says Speaker Setup, click and then scroll down until you see 3 settings labeled Monitor Stereo, Monitor Stand Stereo, and Monitor Mounted Stereo. Whatever one enables the sound will be the one you want to stick with.
