SOURCE: flashing battery symbol

I had this same problem today.  I called Honeywell and they said the flashing broken battery symbol may mean low batteries, or it may mean the battery type is incorrect.  They recommend only non-rechargeable alkaline batteries.  I was using rechargeable NiMH batteries.  Even though they were fully charged, I had the flashing battery symbol and the thermostat relay would not work.  I replaced with alkaline, the flashing battery indicator went out, the thermostat works again.
Odd that it worked for 3 months on the rechargeables after first install. I did notice the broken battery symbol came on after the first few days, but I checked the battery charges and they were good, so I disregarded the symbol until the thermostat stopped working today.  Apparently there is something about the NiMH performance characteristic that the thermostat doesn't like.

SOURCE: A/C won't kick on w/

Hi,
Okay it seems that for some reason the battery change scrambled the brain of the t-stat... that happens...
To fix it you will now have to go into the "Installer Menu" and reset the paramenters of the t-stat.
If you have the Installe brochure then you can look in there and then set the tistat for "heat/cool" and also to "auto fan" and then to "auto changeover" These should get you back to cooling again...
No big problem, just a small programming issue...be patient and if you do not have you book don't worry... you can look it up here...this tip tells you where and how to find any of the Honeywell t-stat manuals.

Wiring with only 2 wires; which terminals to connect?

See RC and RH, RC is for cool, RH is for heat, you wire the red wire to the RH or red terminal ,either one will work actually but we generally switch the hot leg of power, W is the heat circuit

I replaced an old mercury T-stat (York with model number 2TH11704024) installed a new T-stat (RTH6350). The wires that I I have are O (orange), G (green), Y (yellow), T (gray but not used in new T-stat),...

Did you shut the power off to the air handler/furnace...... before you installed the new thermostat??? You may have shorted out the transformer or blown the transformer fuse...... If you try to put the Fan switch on the stat to Fan ON does the fan come on ..... if it does the transformer is OK.. On the new thermostat did you program it to tell it that you had a heat pump system ???? Looks like you had it wired right. Here is a pdf manual for a RTH6350 http://customer.honeywell.com/techlit/pdf/PackedLit/69-2416ES.pdf

Its on page 13 Advance setup for tell the new stat that you have a heat pump....There is also a Honey well Hot line on page 2 Hope this helps.

Hi,Not nessarly shot. The stat uses low voltage from the equpitmemt also. You neea a volt meter to check.Remove stat from mounting plate.Check power at terminals RH&W or at RC&G they should read 24volt.If not check emergency switch off or fuse/breaker.

I have a honeywell t stat th6000 for htg only having problem get my gas valve to go onfurnace is working but no heat

As long as this is a 24 volt thermostat, remove the thermostat from the sub base and connect the wires that are connected to terminals R & W. If the furnace works the problem is in the thermostat. Have you tried new batteries
