Your lens may have a lock switch at the 28mm end of the lens if so you slide it to release the zoom

Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DL Macro For Canon 60d. it doesn't work properly and it has wild sound.

Unfortunalty that is the nature of this particular lens. Its Noisy and is slow to lock on a focus. the canon version 75-300 USM is a great deal better and if you try it out in a shop you will see it works miles better but its probably double the price. I use to show customers both the sigma and canon lens and 9/10 times they would go for the canon.

However in good lighting conditions (mid day sun) the lens should be ok. not great but ok

if your looking to get rid of the lens after reading this but dont want to spend much more the tamron equivalent is a better bet still wont beat the canon though.

Will a SIGMA 70-300 f4 DL MACRO LENS fit on a CANON EOS 20D?

Assuming you get the lens with a Canon mount, yes. Sigma makes lenses to fit a variety of makes, but each one has a different mount. A lens intended for a Nikon, for example, will not fit a Canon.

To NOT get that error you need to use in AV mode. It's the only way that old Sigmas work with the new Canons. It's an aperture bug that old Sigma lens have and some the only way to fix it is to rechip it. The problem is that Sigma no longer rechips the lens.

Answer to your question is, ‘Yes’ we can. Use Sigma FD lenses.

As we know Canon AV-1 has electronically controlled AE (Automatic Exposure) & has a Canon Breech-lock lens mount.

Original generation of FD lenses featured a silver locking ring at the base. Only that locking ring turns to lock the lens to the camera body; the lens body remains still.

In the newer lens system which was introduced with this camera, the user has to line up the red dot on the lens, with the red dot on the camera and simply turned the whole lens clockwise until it clicked into place.

Note: FD-mount cameras could use FL lenses in stop-down metering mode.

Thank you & have a nice day.

Warm regards,
William

My sigma 28-200 have problem with shutter problem my canon eos 450 cannot set more than f3.5 bcoz there are error01

All auto-focus lens have some sort of 'chip' inside .. Sigma 'reversed engineered' Canon's chip - however every time Canon brings out a new camera there is a chance the Sigma lens chip won't work (this is why you see lots of Sigma lens on eBay :-) )

IF you can prove you purchased your lens direct from an authorised Sigma dealer, Sigma will update the chip for free .. otherwise they charge about £35 .. you pay postage in both cases ..

Visit the Sigma web site for further info.
