This is in response to solution # 1. I'm having the same problem.

My brother bought this external 52x24x52 cdrw at a thrift store, without the cable. He thought he could use a different cable from his supply (he's a semi-professional geek), but none would fit. I'll try to explain what it looks like to you, jganymede, but I think the best solution would be to simply find the replacement cable. I tried to find somebody on-line whom I could order the part from, but so far I haven't been able to speak directly to any parts brokers about it, and even the products sometimes neglect to state if the power cord comes with the assembly..

Here goes. The plug-in at the back of the device looks similar to an s-video, or xbox controller relay, or other device. It has that familiar O shape external metal sheath. The plastic connector has the familiar indents on either side of the bottom, and looking at it, the central post's position bottom starts about the midpoint vertically, and it's shape is a small rectangle of of about 1.5 mm tall to 1 mm wide. It has a flat indentation of about 1.5 mm at the top of the shape and the whole shape sort of resembles a 1 up mushroom from Mario Bros. It has two holes to a side for metal plug-ins, that are symmetrical, which begin at the same level as the central post. There is one more hole which is placed below the midsection and to the right of the center of the mushroom stalk.

I don't have a camera, nor do I know how to post an image on here, so I might try to find a way to do it on-line and post the url here later...

I lost the power cord to my "vintage fiber optic light" and would really like to use it. I don't know the voltage, so I can't even try to use another cord. Any ideas I what I can do?

If it is the type that has a cord, a power transformer and then the unit, look on the area where the power cord plugs into the unit. It ought to have the voltage, milliamps needed and the polarity.

If you have only lost the power cord, it just need to same type of plug.

Does my Casio g-200 keyboard have a fuse ? If so what type and where is it ?

I'd go exchange the power supply for the correct one (check the voltage, polarity and mA rating that's marked next to the power input). It may be too late, though.
There will be a fuse on the internal power input board, as well as one in the power supply, but if the instrument is turning on and lighting up, it's not a blown fuse.

Well, if the power cord isn't hard wired to the TV, then the two most likely options are either a figure 8 cord or an IEC cord.

How do I know which type of power cord I need for my Sanyo Vizio CLT2054-04 tv? I understand there are 2 types of 4-pin cords depending on the polarity? The original cord is lost. Can I tell from...

Go to a Samsung dealer ir servicer and take the model number with you. The difference in the power cords is not polarity. It's whether or not it is for 115VAC or 220vac More than likely you need the one for the US--115vac.

I need to know what type of power cord to use with a Maytag sde2606ayw dryer. I have a dryer but no power cord. I have no idea about what to get and how to determine what to get. thanks, Patrick

Hello Patrick. dryers do not come with a cord because there are two very different and very common dryer sockets installed in homes in this country. look at your dryer socket, where you will be plugging in your new dryer. It is either a 3 hole or a 4 hole socket. IF it is a 3 hole socket then u will need a 3 hole plug. If it is a 4 hole socket you will need a 4 hole plug. The plugs are available at Sears, Home Depot, Lowes and they all come with instructions.

please rate my answer as very helpful. thanks Joe

Duet 4.4 Washer (not steam) power cord too short

Hi, you might be able to find an 8 foot dryer power cord at your local building supply or hardware, or electrical supply store. It will be labelled for a dryer. First look at the dryer receptacle. The cords come in two types, 3 or 4 wire, so get the one that will match youyt receptacle. The wirte should be # 10 minimum.
