Question about Samsung DVD-VR375 DVD Recorder/VCR
I'm trying to convert an audio tape (from external tape deck) to cd. Cd-r disc won't load; gives ''error'' message and rejects disc. The unit does play audio cds without any problem.
I checked the website for your problem. though it can play the audio cds it will able to write only dvd's only. i found this message from the samsung website
(http://reviews.cnet.com/dvd-vcr-combos/samsung-dvd-vr375-dvd/4507-6505_7-33004024.html?tag=mncol;psum)... so nothing is wrong with the recorder. it will be able to write only dvd's(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL ) but not the cds.
but it will be able to play the following versions(CD, DVD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL ).
hope your problem is tackled.thanks for using fixya!. please dont forget to rate my solution.

I will explain the problem.in your player there are two laser lens.its dual lens assembly player.the 1 laser lens for audio cds .and 1 laser lens is used while converting the disc.but in your player the laser lens which reads the audio disc is proper ,but thw 1 which comes in use for making the cd is got faulty.as the laser lens detects the cd in the drive.if the lens is faulty it will not detect,so you will get the message as follows "error" or "no disc".so the laser lens in your player needs replacement.to solve the issue.a local dvd, vcd, electronics repair store.can get the lens replaced for you in the player.then it will work properly.many of my clients are having the same probklem and after replacing the lens player starts working as normal.
this will help you.
thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.

This just a possibility why it won't work:
1. Your drive doesn't like that particular brand of disc media.. Some are picky!
To isolate it:
1. Try different brand of disc.
2. Try to load the 'problem' disc into different CD-R drive to see if that would work.
3. If you've got an old drive, you may need a new one which has a new laser which reads and burns discs better.
Hope this help and have a great day!.
