See section A. Skype in the info below to setup the Audio & Video.
Also send this to your family and friends so they have their computer setup properly.
Web Camera's have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/ )
set it up as follows:
Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Then click on the Video Settings.
The camera, if Installed Properly, it will come up and show a video picture.
Then, on the bottom of the page click save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and hear you.
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.HTML )
set it up as follows:
Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on "Open the call setup assistant" and follow the instructions on the left window.
C. Windows Live Messenger:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d78f2ff1-79ea-4066-8ba0-ddbed94864fc&displaylang=en
After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on " "Show Menus." And then click on "Show the Menu Bar".
Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on " "Action."
Go to "TOOLS" and click "Audio and Video Setting" and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
D. AIM (AOL) Messenger:
http://dashboard.aim.com/aim
On the VIM sign-in window, click on Edit.
Then click on Settings Enhanced IM.
Next click on Enhanced IM.
Then click on Audio Video.
The Audio and Video portion has drop downs so you can select the proper audio card and video camera installed in you computer.
The Audi Video drop downs are
Microphone
Speaker
Camera
The audio and camera should function now.
Additional information to use with VIM settings.
Adjust Your Audio and Video Settings:
In order to adjust your audio and video settings, please follow the steps given below:
1. Click the Audio and Video Settings button directly below the My Buddy or My Camera window. If you are currently
Participating in an AOL Live Video IM session, a message will display: You must disconnect the current AOL Live Video IM
conversation before running setup. Would you like to disconnect now? Click the Yes button.
2. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working
Properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Notes:
The first time you use AOL Live Video IM, a message will display: Would you like to first check your audio and video settings? Click the Yes button.
The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly.
Follow the on-screen prompts.
images in AOL Live Video IM may appear reversed, or as a mirror image (text may appear backwards) when you look at your own camera feed or at the

Noise when talking on skype

When using services like Skype or VoipBuster the audio is compressed. Depending on the quality of the internet connection the audio quality will be different. If you or the person on the other side of the line has a bad internet or bad WiFi connection, the compression of the audio will be much stronger, resulting in a worse audio quality.

Another problem that occurs many times is an audio feedback. If you, or the person you're talking to uses a microphone and computer speakers, the audio coming out of the computer speakers can be captured by the microphone and be amplified again. It forms a feedback loop and creates an echo. The best thing to do is that you both use a good quality headset instead of putting the audio over computer or iPad speakers.

For your iPad, you can buy the Apple EarPods. They are affordable and contain a microphone to make Skype calls with your iPad.

You own a iPad, which is a device of high quality. If the person you're talking to has a crappy phone or bad hardware, the quality will be bad. The advice then is that that person buys a device that has a higher quality than he or she is using now.

I hope my advise will solve your problem.

Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble with your webcam. Click start right click on my computer select properties then device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X right click to reinstall drivers or update driver W7. Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble with your webcam. Click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Which-version-of-DirectX-is-on-your-computer Also during a video call at the top of your screen you will see an option to for a video call using yahoo messenger this might vary if you are using another messenger service Open skype go to tools from the drop down list select options scroll to audio settings you can make a free test call before you try to make a call. Make sure the microphone is using the same as your computers audio you can make a free test call if you cant get the microphone to work you can select learn about setting up your audio equipment. Click start control panel sounds and audio devices audio and also voice it's the same make sure that you have the right default microphone selected you should be able scroll to video settings to make sure you have the right settings. Open skype go to tools options scroll to audio settings or video settings on the right you will see webcam setting you can change the settings from there click apply after changing any settings also you can see the webcam there you can even take a snapsot also make sure your settings are correct for a video call. Click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick select audio from the microphone drop down list make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or Select the voice tab and make sure that you have the right media selected also select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it Not Showing the Other Person Online Status b> When one of your Skype contacts is not online, they will not show up in your list of available contacts. It is possible to hold a conversation with someone who is not on your friend list, however; if you are trying to talk to someone you have previously chatted with but does not show up on your list of contacts, check to make sure that you have added the person. All of your added contacts will show up on your list; the ones who are offline will have a grayed-out Skype icon and the contacts who are online will have a green icon next to their name. If you cannot see the person's name, you may need to search for them and create a new contact. b> Availability b> Skype users have the option to change their availability when they are signed into the program. The status availability options are: offline, online, SkypeMe!, invisible, away, not available and do not disturb. If the person you want to talk to is signed in but has selected the "offline" or "invisible" availability, you will not see them as online. For the name to show up on your list of online contacts, the person must change their availability. b> Blocked b> If you cannot see a person that you have already added to your list, there is a chance that the person has blocked you. When a Skype user chooses to block you, you will not be able to see anything about availability. Even if the user is online and accepting messages, you will not be able to see the status and messages will remain undelivered. b> Video b> If you are trying to hold a video chat with a Skype contact but cannot see the person, there are several possible reasons. If either of your Internet connections are too slow to support streaming video, the video will not come through. If you have been chatting by text and switch to video, the other person will need to enable the video stream before you can see them. Other culprits can include out-of-date webcam drivers, unplugged webcams or another video-enabled application running at the same time.
Hope this helps.

My microphone is not working when I try to Skype but the camera does work

Good day,

This sometimes happens if skype is using the wrong mic line.
To set the correct line:
1. In skype go to Tools in the top menu bar and then select options.
2. Select audio settings on the left hand menu.
3. Click on the drop down box next to microphone.
4. Select each setting until you see the green bar respond when you talk into the mic.
5. Click save.

This will solve your problem. Make sure that the mic is plugged into the red audio jack!

Im talking on skype and my video feed will black out but i can still see and hear the person im talking to and they can hear me, but they cant see me

Your internet connection, or theirs, might be too slow to handle two webcam feeds along with the audio.
Make sure your laptop is plugged in, as running on battery with a high CPU load can slow down your laptop.
I suggest you make sure you have the latest version of Skype as you it can diagnose problems as they happen.

4 - chooses the "display" tab;
5 - disable the options "DirectDraw Acceleration" and "Direct3D Acceleration"
