Hi

The first thing that should be done is to replace the convergence ICs (STK392-110). Then you need to check all resistors if they are fine , also check for any cold solder joints. Please contact Panasonic for the part nos as it is always recommended to use original parts.

Please do accept the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Hi there,

The problem with no picture, but working sound, this is a loss of the high voltage system. This is almost always failure of the high voltage auto transformer called the flyback and/or the HOT (horizontal output transistor) - which work together in producing the horizontal scan of the raster system and the high voltage to produce the raster upon which the video picture is modulated.

The failure could very well be from HIGH temperature involved with the storage of the tv set.

Let me know for any clarifications.

Your convergence ICs have failed. Thats what causes the led to blink three times. The PT53WX53 convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com will usually repair that issue. The kit also contains the CD with detailed repair instructions.

If you are using your TV's internal speakers, then you have a loose connection inside your TV more than likely on your audio output IC. Re solder all connections on your audio output IC's. To locate your IC, trace your speaker wire back to the circuit board.

Sometimes, in the Panasonic projection sets, one of the convergence IC's shorts out and draws so much current that one of the resistors next to it glows red hot. The computer senses the extra current and shuts the set back off. This is quite an easy problem to correct, but the set should be serviced by a qualified tech familiar with panasonic projection sets.
