SOURCE: Lint is not going into pull out lint trap. The lint screen is torn and lint is collecting behind trap.

Poor air flow would be my guess. How long is the vent hose? Does it have more than one angle/turn before venting outside? Is the lint gathering around the outer edges of the door? Keeping the length of air travel shorter will improve the operation.

SOURCE: Fisher & Paykel DEGX2 Dryer. Need heating element changed?

I had the same problem. Everyone continued to tell me that I needed a new heating element, clean lint trap, etc. However, I took the front off of the dryer and located the heating element. On the front of the heating element, in between two wires, there is a red button. Push the button and you might hear a click that sounds similar to a circuit breaker. It is a reset button for the heating element. Try that and it might help.

SOURCE: Fisher & Paykel Auto Sensor Dryer stops & beeps constantly

Hi emkboyce

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.

I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.

I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Good luck!

SOURCE: Fisher & Paykel ED56 not working

Replace (repair) the exhaust sensor this looks like a transistor with the middle leg cut off. it is situated below the lint filter but can only accessed by removing the back panel, top panel (or rear screws to allow the removal of the drum). drum and then front panel to remove the connector from the mainboard. If you follow the exhaust tube once the back is off you will see a single phillips head screw that is the sensor. check the wires to the circuit board are not broken or dry joints or just replace it. sorry i had a spare machine i scavenged from to fix my problem so i dont know where to buy new.

Squeaking while running

Either the idler has a dry bearing and needs a couple shots of oil, or there is dirt build up on the pulley.

I am having a similar issue. I had a tech out to look at it and he recommended replacing the drum bearing and idler jockey pulley. ($419.95) Ouch. I am going to do this on my own. I ordered the part from paykelfisherparts.net. Part # 479332 Drum Bearing Kit $79.91.

Check here for more info. This was exactly what I found on my machine (DGGX1) http://fisherpaykelparts.net/techhelp/fisher-paykel-top-load-dryers-us-models/731-fisher-paykel-dggx1-top-load-dryer.html

I did not totally trust the repair dude. He was wierd and not very thorough. I can tell the bearing is bad, if there are still noises I will order up the jockey pully thing and see if I can figure that out.

Here is a link to the service manual. (https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B5If-wTgYWH5OGNkY2RmZDEtMWU4OS00MjgwLTg3OWEtMmRlZjY0N2I5MzYy&hl=en)

My dryer squeaks like a high pitched whistle or tone

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication, or maybe your drum belt has slipped off of the idler arm pulley.

You will need to expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor.
Now is a good time to check the belt to see if it has slipped off of the idler arm pulley and also to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.

Dryer will not start

ther are alot of things that wont let these dryers start. the start switch the timer. the door switch. but maybe you havent tried the motor switch. this is built with a GE design. if the belt isnt hooked up the idler pulley will not activate the switch. if you get inside the dryer. the motor sits to the left. the idler pully sits right next to it. if you look at the base of the dryer where the idler makes a 90degree turn there is a little swich that will prevent the dryer from starting if not made. just pull the idler tight see if switch clicks. other than that all the other parts you can check for continuity to see if good.

Noise

drum needs to be taken out and guides need to be checked ,i presume that this plastic is a broken drum guide.check all drum rollers for wear at this point. It shouldnt be that difficult just remember which way the belt comes off the idler pulley, dryer drum rotates simply with a belt surounding the drum thus the guides, drum rollers and idler are checked to find where the grease is coming from, hope this helps,

dryer's have a long belt that runs around the drum. a common culprit is an idler pulley on the belt tensioner. you can take off the front of the dryer and oil it for a temp fix. it will probably need to be replaced
